Design and Build Quality
The A72 measures 165 x 77.4 x 8.4 mm and weighs 203 g, with a matte plastic back in Samsung's "Awesome" colour range. The headline build feature is IP67 dust/water resistance (up to 1 m for 30 minutes) — the first A7x model to get it, and still rare in the mid-range. An in-display optical fingerprint sensor handles unlocking, and the 3.5mm headphone jack survives.
Display Features
The 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel delivers 1080 x 2400 resolution with a 90Hz refresh rate and 800 nits peak brightness, protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The 90Hz makes everyday scrolling visibly smoother than 60Hz rivals, and the AMOLED contrast is excellent for video. A strong screen by any mid-range standard.
Processor and Performance
The Snapdragon 720G (8 nm) is a capable mid-range chip — smooth for everyday use, social apps, and moderate gaming at medium-high settings. It's a 2021 chip, so don't expect 2026 flagship gaming headroom, but as a daily driver it remains composed and efficient. The 8GB RAM configuration keeps multitasking comfortable.
RAM and Storage
8GB RAM (the common Pakistan configuration; a 6GB variant existed elsewhere) with 128GB or 256GB of storage, expandable via microSD up to 1TB. Note the hybrid slot — the memory card shares the second SIM slot, so it's dual-SIM or SIM + microSD.
Camera Features
This is the A72's signature: a 64MP main camera with OIS, joined by an 8MP 3x telephoto also with OIS — stabilised optical zoom is genuinely rare in the mid-range — plus a 12MP ultrawide and 5MP macro. Daylight detail is strong, the 3x zoom is genuinely useful for portraits and distance shots, and OIS helps night shots and video. The 32MP front camera takes sharp selfies.
Battery and Charging
A 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging — a full day and more for typical use, with reasonably quick top-ups. On a used unit, check battery health and whether the original 25W charger is included. No wireless charging.
Software and Updates
Launched on Android 11 with One UI 3.1 and received updates through its official window, which has now closed. Verify the installed version on any used unit and confirm your essential apps (especially banking) remain supported.
Connectivity and Additional Features
4G LTE, hybrid dual SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C, 3.5mm headphone jack, and stereo speakers — a meaningful upgrade over the A71's mono speaker. In-display optical fingerprint sensor. IP67 as noted.
Variants, Colours and Availability
Configurations: 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB (plus a 6GB variant in some markets). Colours: Awesome Black, White, Blue, and Violet. Samsung discontinued the A72, so Pakistan stock is used — condition, box, and charger inclusion vary per unit.
Price in Pakistan and PTA Information
WhatMobile lists the Galaxy A72 at Rs. 82,999 (verified 2026-10-11) — a launch-era listing price, not a live market quote; used units trade lower and street prices move. Confirm the latest price with Zohaan Mobile Gallery before buying.
PTA: PTA approval applies per device and IMEI, not per model. Before paying, send the phone's IMEI to 8484 and confirm "Compliant" status. How to check PTA approval.

Who Should Consider This Phone?
Good fit: buyers who want the most camera hardware per rupee in Samsung's used mid-range — stabilised 3x zoom, 90Hz AMOLED, IP67, and big battery — without paying current-model prices. A strong pick for photography-minded users on a budget.
Look elsewhere if: you need 5G, the lightest phone, or years of updates ahead — in that case compare newer options in the Samsung collection or all mobiles.

Final Verdict
The Galaxy A72 was the best-balanced A-series phone of its generation — 90Hz AMOLED, OIS-stabilised 3x zoom, IP67, stereo speakers, and a 5,000mAh battery in one package. As a used buy it still out-specs many newer budget phones on camera hardware alone. Its honest limits are 4G-only connectivity and an ended update window. For camera-first buyers on a budget, it's one of Samsung's smartest used picks.
