Samsung Galaxy A16 5G — Full Specifications, Features and Price in Pakistan

The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G is Samsung's 2024 entry into affordable 5G, and it remains one of the most searched budget 5G phones in Pakistan. It pairs an Exynos 1330 chipset with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display, a 50MP triple camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging. This guide lays out its verified specifications, explains what the chipset means in daily use, and clears up the confusion with the similarly named Galaxy A16 4G and the newer A17 series — so you buy the right model.

Key Specifications at a Glance

Design and Build Quality

The Galaxy A16 5G keeps Samsung's clean A-series look: a flat glass front, vertical camera lenses sitting directly on the plastic back, and flat sides. At 200 grams it is not the lightest phone in its class, but the IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance is a genuine bonus at this price — most rivals skip it. The fingerprint sensor sits in the power button on the side, which most users find faster and more reliable than the in-display sensors on pricier phones.

Display Features

The 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel with 90Hz refresh rate is the A16 5G's strongest selling point. Text stays sharp at 1080 x 2340, colours are vivid, and scrolling feels noticeably smoother than on 60Hz budget phones. Samsung rates peak brightness at 800 nits in high-brightness mode, which keeps the screen readable outdoors. For video and social media, this display embarrasses the LCD panels still common in this price band.

Processor and Performance

The Exynos 1330 (5 nm) is the same efficient chip Samsung used in the Galaxy A35 and A55 generation, which means the A16 5G punches above its price for everyday speed. Social apps, video streaming, maps, and multitasking all run smoothly. It handles popular games at medium settings, but it is not a gaming phone — heavy titles need reduced graphics. Note: Samsung ships the A16 5G with the Dimensity 6300 in some markets instead of the Exynos 1330; units sold officially in Pakistan carry the Exynos 1330.

RAM and Storage

The A16 5G comes in 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB RAM versions with 128GB or 256GB of storage, and all variants take a microSDXC card. For 2026 use, 6GB RAM with 128GB storage is the sweet spot — 4GB will feel tight with today's heavier apps. A dedicated microSD slot means you can add cheap storage later instead of paying for a bigger variant up front.

Camera Features

The 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 lens takes sharp, well-exposed photos in daylight — genuinely good for the price. The 5MP ultrawide is useful for landscapes and group shots but noticeably softer, and the 2MP macro is a filler lens you will rarely use. The 13MP front camera is fine for video calls and selfies in good light. Video tops out at 1080p at 30fps, which is standard for this segment but worth knowing if you shoot a lot of video.

Battery and Charging

A 5,000mAh battery with 25W wired charging is the expected A-series formula, and it works: a full day of heavy use is realistic, and light users can stretch to two days. 25W charging refills the battery in roughly an hour and a quarter. There is no wireless charging. Battery health on a new unit will be 100 percent; if you are buying a used A16 5G, check the battery's condition in person.

Software and Updates

The A16 5G launched with Android 14 and One UI 6.1, and Samsung promised six generations of OS upgrades plus six years of security updates — the longest software commitment ever offered on a phone this cheap. That means a unit bought in 2026 still has years of updates ahead, which is a strong argument for the A16 5G over older used Samsung models whose updates have ended.

Connectivity and Additional Features

Full 5G support (SA/NSA) plus dual-SIM 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 5 dual-band, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC (market dependent), GPS, FM radio, and USB Type-C. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack, so budget for Bluetooth earphones if you still use wired ones. Sensors include the side fingerprint reader, accelerometer, gyro, compass, and virtual proximity sensing.

Variants, Colours and Availability

Samsung sells the A16 5G in 4GB+128GB, 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB, and 8GB+256GB configurations; the Zohaan Mobile Gallery listing at Rs. 55,000 covers the commonly stocked variant — confirm the exact RAM and storage on the unit before paying. Do not confuse it with the Galaxy A16 4G (Helio G99, different model entirely) or the newer Galaxy A17 and A17 5G, which replaced it in Samsung's 2025 lineup.
