Samsung Galaxy A05 — Full Specifications, Features & Price in Pakistan

The Galaxy A05 was 2023's big-value budget Samsung: 6.7-inch display, 50MP main camera, and 25W charging around the gaming-capable Helio G85. It launched officially in Pakistan, so local PTA-eligible units are common used.

Discontinued now, it outpunches the older A0 models on camera, charging, and processing power. This guide covers the specifications, the store-listed price, and the A05-versus-A05s decision.

Design and Build Quality

A large 168.8 x 78.2 x 8.8 mm, 195 g phone — glass front, plastic body in Black, Silver, or Light Green. The side power button doubles as a fast fingerprint reader, a big usability win over the sensor-less A02s/A04e. No water resistance; a case is cheap insurance used.

Display Features

The 6.7-inch PLS LCD (720 x 1600, 20:9, ~262 ppi) with Infinity-U notch is big and bright enough for video, but resolution is the weak spot next to the A05s's FHD+ 90 Hz panel. Value buyers will find it acceptable; screen-first buyers should weigh the A05s.

Processor and Performance

The Helio G85 (12 nm) — 2x2.0 GHz Cortex-A75 + 6x1.8 GHz Cortex-A55 with Mali-G52 MC2 — is the first chip here that handles demanding games at playable settings, and it breezes through daily multitasking. A clear tier above the P35 and Snapdragon 450 in older A0 phones.

RAM and Storage

4GB or 6GB RAM with 64GB or 128GB storage (eMMC 5.1). The 6GB/128GB version is the ideal used pick; even 4GB/64GB works thanks to the capable chip. microSDXC expansion up to 1TB.

Camera Features

Dual rear: 50MP f/1.8 main (AF) + 2MP depth, LED flash, 1080p at up to 60fps. The 50MP sensor is a genuine leap over the 13MP units on older A0 models — much better daylight detail and cropping headroom. 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera. Test full-resolution mode and 60fps video used.

Battery and Charging

5,000mAh with 25W wired charging — the fastest in this group, roughly an hour for a full charge with a compatible adapter. Catch: no charger in the box, so confirm whether the used unit includes a 25W adapter — it affects the real price.

Software and Updates

Launched on Android 13 (One UI Core) with up to two major OS upgrades promised — the most generous update commitment here, making the A05 the safest used pick for software longevity. Its endpoint will still be years newer than the frozen builds on older A0 models.

Connectivity and Additional Features

GSM/HSPA/LTE (4G only), dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS/GLONASS/Galileo/BeiDou, USB-C 2.0, 3.5mm jack. No NFC. Side fingerprint reader plus accelerometer and proximity; single and dual Nano-SIM variants.

Variants, Colours and Availability

4GB/64GB, 4GB/128GB, and 6GB/128GB (a 3GB/32GB base existed in some regions) in Black, Silver, Light Green. Launched officially in Pakistan — WhatMobile reported Rs. 28,700 for 4GB/64GB at launch — so local units are common. Discontinued; verify config in Settings.

Price in Pakistan and PTA Information

As of 2026-10-11, Zohaan Mobile Gallery lists the Samsung Galaxy A05 at Rs. 28,000 on its website. Prices move frequently — a market-wide surge after 6 October 2026 pushed many used-phone prices up — so confirm the current price on WhatsApp before visiting.

For context, the Galaxy A05 launched officially in Pakistan with the 4GB/64GB variant priced at Rs. 28,700 (per a 2024 WhatMobile Pakistan report) — a historical figure, not a current price. The store's current listing sits near that old launch figure, which shows how well these hold value on the used market.

PTA approval is tied to the handset's IMEI, not the model name. Check the specific unit via PTA's 8484 SMS service and ask the store to note the registration status on the printed bill.

Used phones carry a 7-day check warranty: speaker/ringer claims only — no claim for LCD/touch, display, or camera faults, no claims over phone calls, same handset only, and void on water damage, breakage, opening, or unauthorized repair.

Main Advantages and Limitations

Advantages:

• Helio G85 — fastest non-'s' chip here, genuinely game-capable
• 50MP camera, a big step up from older 13MP units
• 25W fast charging — fastest in this group
• Side-mounted fingerprint sensor
• Official Pakistan launch; 2 OS upgrades promised

Limitations:

• 720p 60 Hz display — the A05s screen is visibly better
• No charger in the box
• Slow eMMC 5.1 storage
• No NFC, no 5G
• Plastic build, no water resistance

Who Should Consider This Phone?

Good fit: the best performance-per-rupee in Samsung's budget line — budget mobile gamers, camera-first buyers wanting 50MP without A05s money, and anyone valuing Samsung's update promise.

Look elsewhere if: the display matters most — the A05s's FHD+ 90 Hz panel, Snapdragon 680, and 13MP selfie camera justify its higher used price for screen-focused buyers.

Final Verdict

The A05 is the value sweet spot of Samsung's 2023 budget line: Helio G85, 50MP camera, 25W charging, fingerprint sensor, and two OS upgrades promised — at a used price near its old launch figure. The only real compromise is the 720p 60 Hz display.

Screen priority? Pay the step up to the A05s. Otherwise the A05 is the smart buy — 6GB/128GB if available, confirm the charger, verify the IMEI's PTA status, and confirm the price with Zohaan Mobile Gallery.
