Samsung Galaxy A02s — Full Specifications, Features & Price in Pakistan

The Galaxy A02s was 2021's big-battery budget Samsung: 6.5-inch screen, 5,000mAh battery with 15W charging, and a Snapdragon 450 — at an entry-level price that made it a huge seller, so used units remain easy to find.

One quirk to know: the A02s has no fingerprint sensor — Samsung added one only on the A03s. This guide covers the specifications, the current store-listed price, the A02s-versus-A03s choice, and what to inspect on a used unit.

Design and Build Quality

A large plastic phone — 164.2 x 75.9 x 9.1 mm, 196 g — with a glass front and textured plastic back in Black, White, Red, or Blue. No fingerprint reader anywhere: PIN, pattern, or password only. No water-resistance rating.

Display Features

The 6.5-inch PLS LCD (720 x 1600, 20:9, ~270 ppi) with Infinity-V notch is big and readable for video, with modest sharpness and typical budget-LCD brightness that struggles in harsh sunlight. Standard 60 Hz.

Processor and Performance

The Snapdragon 450 (14 nm) — octa-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 with Adreno 506 — was modest even at launch: fine for WhatsApp, YouTube, and browsing, laboured by heavy multitasking and demanding games. A step behind the A03s's Helio P35. Buy it for battery and screen, not speed.

RAM and Storage

Mainly 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB (eMMC 5.1), with other regional combos existing. The 4GB/64GB version is the sensible used pick — 3GB feels tight on Android 12. Dedicated microSDXC slot.

Camera Features

Triple rear: 13MP f/2.2 main (AF) + 2MP macro + 2MP depth, LED flash, 1080p@30 video. Acceptable daylight shots for social sharing; the auxiliary lenses add little. 5MP f/2.2 selfie camera for calls. Test the main lens, flash, and portrait mode used.

Battery and Charging

The 5,000mAh battery is the best feature — two days of light use was realistic new, and a healthy used unit still delivers superb endurance. 15W wired charging over USB-C takes about two hours; Samsung shipped a 15W adapter in the box, so check the seller includes it.

Software and Updates

Launched on Android 10, officially updated to Android 12 (One UI 4.1) — now frozen with dated patches. Usable on 3–4GB RAM but not snappy; keep expectations at 2021 entry level.

Connectivity and Additional Features

GSM/HSPA/LTE (4G only), Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/GLONASS/Galileo/BeiDou, USB-C 2.0, 3.5mm jack. No NFC; accelerometer and proximity sensors only. Single and dual Nano-SIM variants exist.

Variants, Colours and Availability

Mainly 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB in Black, White, Red, Blue, single or dual SIM by region. Discontinued — verify RAM, storage, and SIM setup in Settings, not just the listing title.

Price in Pakistan and PTA Information

As of 2026-10-11, Zohaan Mobile Gallery lists the Samsung Galaxy A02s at Rs. 22,000 on its website. Prices move frequently — a market-wide surge after 6 October 2026 pushed many used-phone prices up — so confirm the current price on WhatsApp before visiting.

PTA approval is tied to the handset's IMEI, not the model name. Check the specific unit via PTA's 8484 SMS service and ask the store to note the registration status on the printed bill.

Used phones carry a 7-day check warranty: speaker/ringer claims only — no claim for LCD/touch, display, or camera faults, no claims over phone calls, same handset only, and void on water damage, breakage, opening, or unauthorized repair.

Main Advantages and Limitations

Advantages:

• 5,000mAh battery — outstanding endurance for the price
• Big 6.5-inch display for video and reading
• 15W charging over modern USB-C
• Dedicated microSD slot and 3.5mm jack
• Huge used availability — easy to compare units

Limitations:

• No fingerprint sensor — the A03s has one
• Snapdragon 450 is weak for 2026-era apps
• 720p LCD, modest brightness, no high refresh
• 4G only, no NFC, Bluetooth 4.2
• Updates ended at Android 12

Who Should Consider This Phone?

Good fit: battery-first buyers on the lowest budget — drivers and riders, or anyone wanting a long-lasting secondary phone for calls, WhatsApp, and YouTube.

Look elsewhere if: you want a fingerprint sensor, smoother performance, or better cameras — the A03s at similar used money fixes the fingerprint omission and adds a faster chip.

Final Verdict

The A02s is a battery-first budget phone: 5,000mAh, big 6.5-inch screen, USB-C, low used price. The missing fingerprint sensor, modest chip, and basic display are real but honestly priced in.

If the sensor matters, the A03s is the alternative at similar money. Otherwise buy 4GB/64GB, test battery and cameras, verify the IMEI's PTA status, and confirm the price with Zohaan Mobile Gallery.
