Samsung Galaxy A01 — Full Specifications, Features & Price in Pakistan

The Samsung Galaxy A01 was the cheapest A-series phone of 2020: a compact 5.7-inch device with a Snapdragon 439, 13MP + 2MP dual camera, and 3,000mAh battery, built for calls, WhatsApp, and light apps at the lowest Samsung price.

Discontinued and used-only now, its case rests on pocketable size, familiar One UI software, and honest simplicity — this guide covers the specifications, the current store-listed price, and who should still consider one.

Design and Build Quality

Just 146.2 x 70.9 x 8.3 mm and 149 g — genuinely one-hand friendly — with a glass front and plastic back and frame in Black, Blue, or Red. There is no fingerprint sensor at all: PIN, pattern, or password only. No water-resistance rating.

Display Features

A 5.7-inch PLS LCD (Samsung's IPS-type panel) at 720 x 1520 (19:9, ~294 ppi) with an Infinity-V notch. Decent viewing angles and colours for the class, but small and low-resolution by 2026 standards — fine for messaging, cramped for long reading.

Processor and Performance

The Snapdragon 439 (12 nm) — octa-core Cortex-A53 (4x1.95 + 4x1.45 GHz) with Adreno 505 — handles WhatsApp, YouTube, Maps, and browsing acceptably. With only 2GB RAM, multitasking is limited and heavy games are out; judge it on basic smoothness, not speed.

RAM and Storage

2GB RAM with 16GB or 32GB of eMMC 5.1 storage — prefer the 32GB version used, since 16GB fills fast. A dedicated microSDXC slot expands storage without blocking the second SIM.

Camera Features

A 13MP f/2.2 main camera with autofocus and LED flash plus a 2MP depth sensor; 1080p@30 video. Decent daylight snapshots for social sharing, noisy in low light. The 5MP f/2.2 selfie camera covers calls. Test the flash and portrait mode on used units.

Battery and Charging

The 3,000mAh cell is small, but the frugal chip and 720p screen stretch it through a full day of light use on a healthy unit. Samsung advertised no fast charging, so expect slow standard-speed top-ups over microUSB. Watch for rapid drain, which signals a worn battery.

Software and Updates

Launched on Android 10 (One UI Core 2.0), officially updated to Android 12 (One UI Core 4.1) — the end of the line, with dated patches. Acceptable for a basic secondary phone.

Connectivity and Additional Features

GSM/HSPA/LTE (4G only), Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/GLONASS/Galileo/BeiDou, microUSB 2.0, 3.5mm jack, and FM radio. No NFC; sensors are accelerometer and proximity only. Single and dual Nano-SIM variants exist.

Variants, Colours and Availability

16GB or 32GB storage (both 2GB RAM) in Black, Blue, and Red, single or dual SIM by region. Discontinued — verify the exact storage and SIM setup in Settings when buying used.

Price in Pakistan and PTA Information

As of 2026-10-11, Zohaan Mobile Gallery lists the Samsung Galaxy A01 at Rs. 16,000 on its website. Prices move frequently — a market-wide surge after 6 October 2026 pushed many used-phone prices up — so confirm the current price on WhatsApp before visiting.

PTA approval is tied to the handset's IMEI, not the model name. Check the specific unit via PTA's 8484 SMS service and ask the store to note the registration status on the printed bill.

Used phones carry a 7-day check warranty: speaker/ringer claims only — no claim for LCD/touch, display, or camera faults, no claims over phone calls, same handset only, and void on water damage, breakage, opening, or unauthorized repair.

Main Advantages and Limitations
