Samsung Galaxy A01 Core — Full Specifications, Features & Price in Pakistan

The Galaxy A01 Core — also sold as the Galaxy A3 Core — is the Go-edition sibling of the A01: Android 10 Go on a quad-core MediaTek MT6739, a single 8MP camera, and an even smaller 5.3-inch body.

Samsung's cheapest smartphone of its generation, now discontinued and used-only. The light Go software is the whole point — it keeps very modest hardware usable. This guide covers the specifications, price, and how it differs from the regular A01.

Design and Build Quality

The smallest phone here at 141.7 x 67.5 x 8.6 mm and 150 g, plastic back and frame in Black, Blue, or Red. Single rear camera, no fingerprint sensor. Do not confuse it with the A01: the Core is smaller, with one camera and SM-A013x model numbers.

Display Features

A 5.3-inch PLS LCD at 720 x 1480 (18.5:9, ~311 ppi) — slightly sharper per inch than the A01, but tiny by 2026 standards. Fine for calls and messages; cramped for video. The 6.5-inch A02s and A03s are the big-screen alternatives.

Processor and Performance

The MediaTek MT6739 (28 nm) — quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 with PowerVR GE8100 — is strictly a basics chip. Android Go does the heavy lifting: lighter OS and Go apps keep calls, WhatsApp, and modest YouTube usable. Expect patience beyond essentials.

RAM and Storage

1GB or 2GB RAM with 16GB or 32GB storage (eMMC 5.1). Strongly prefer the 2GB/32GB combination used — the 1GB/16GB base is extremely constrained even by Go standards. Dedicated microSDXC slot included.

Camera Features

One 8MP f/2.2 rear camera with autofocus, LED flash, and 1080p@30 video — no ultrawide, macro, or depth. Acceptable snapshots in good light, nothing more. The 5MP f/2.4 selfie camera covers calls. With a single lens, verify focus and flash carefully.

Battery and Charging

3,000mAh with a frugal chip and small screen should last a full day of light use on a healthy unit. No fast charging advertised — standard speed over microUSB. Check for abnormal drain during inspection.

Software and Updates

Android 10 Go edition with lightweight Go versions of Google apps; no major upgrades announced. Frozen in time, but that matters less on a basics phone.

Connectivity and Additional Features

GSM/HSPA/LTE (4G only), Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, microUSB 2.0, 3.5mm jack, FM radio. No NFC; accelerometer is the only listed sensor. Single and dual Nano-SIM variants exist.

Variants, Colours and Availability

16GB/1GB, 16GB/2GB, and 32GB/2GB in Black, Blue, and Red (also sold as Galaxy A3 Core). Discontinued — verify the exact RAM and storage in Settings; avoid the 1GB variant unless very cheap.

Price in Pakistan and PTA Information

As of 2026-10-11, Zohaan Mobile Gallery lists the Samsung Galaxy A01 Core at Rs. 14,000 on its website. Prices move frequently — a market-wide surge after 6 October 2026 pushed many used-phone prices up — so confirm the current price on WhatsApp before visiting.

PTA approval is tied to the handset's IMEI, not the model name. Check the specific unit via PTA's 8484 SMS service and ask the store to note the registration status on the printed bill.

Used phones carry a 7-day check warranty: speaker/ringer claims only — no claim for LCD/touch, display, or camera faults, no claims over phone calls, same handset only, and void on water damage, breakage, opening, or unauthorized repair.

Who Should Consider This Phone?

Good fit: the absolute minimum budget — a child's first phone, a spare for calls and WhatsApp, or a hotspot/backup device.

Look elsewhere if: you multitask, photograph, or run demanding apps — 2GB/32GB is the minimum sensible pick, and it is still strictly basics.
