Realme Realme 9 5G - Full Specifications, Features and Price in Pakistan

Introduction

Realme's naming is the first thing to get straight: the Realme 9 5G is a completely different phone from the Realme 9 (4G). The 4G model has a Snapdragon 680, a Super AMOLED display, and a 108MP camera; the 9 5G has a Dimensity 810, an LCD, and a 48MP camera. Launched in March 2022, the 9 5G is essentially a refresh of the 2021 Realme 8s 5G with a newer Android version at launch but a lower-resolution main camera and slower charging. It is now discontinued, so this guide is written for used-market buyers who need to know exactly which phone they are looking at.

Design and Build Quality

The Realme 9 5G is slim and light for its class at 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.5 mm and 188 g, with a plastic frame and back. Meteor Black and Stardust White were the launch colours, with a ripple-style texture on the back that catches light. The side-mounted fingerprint sensor sits in the power button, and the layout will feel familiar to anyone coming from the 8s 5G — the two phones share dimensions and design language. No water-resistance rating is claimed.

Display Features

The 6.5-inch IPS LCD offers a 90Hz refresh rate and 1080 x 2400 resolution (about 405 ppi). It is a competent, power-efficient panel: scrolling is smooth, text is sharp, and colours are natural rather than punchy. What it is not is an AMOLED — buyers cross-shopping the Realme 9 (4G) should know that model's Super AMOLED screen delivers deeper blacks and higher contrast. The punch-hole front camera keeps bezels modest for the price class.

Processor and Performance

The Dimensity 810 (6 nm) returns here, with two 2.4 GHz Cortex-A76 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores plus a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. Performance is essentially identical to the Realme 8s 5G: fluid daily use, comfortable multitasking, and popular games running well at balanced settings, with 5G SA/NSA support built in. The 6 nm process keeps thermals and battery drain in check. The meaningful difference versus its predecessor is software — the 9 5G launched on Android 12 rather than Android 11.

RAM and Storage

Configurations were 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. As with the 8s 5G, the 6GB/128GB version is the sensible used buy; 4GB of RAM is workable but increasingly limiting. Storage expansion uses a dedicated microSDXC slot, so dual-SIM users do not have to choose between a second line and more space.

Camera Features

Here the 9 5G steps back from the 8s 5G: the main camera is 48MP rather than 64MP, joined by 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensors, with a 16MP front camera and 1080p video on both sides. In good light the 48MP main still produces clean, shareable photos, but fine detail is a notch below its predecessor's. There is no ultrawide camera and no OIS, so this is a point-and-shoot setup for daylight rather than a versatile camera system.

Battery and Charging

The 5000mAh battery is the familiar Realme mid-range formula and delivers dependable all-day endurance, helped by the efficient Dimensity 810. Fast charging is supported, though the exact wattage could not be confirmed in the checked sources — launch-era materials point to 18W, a step down from the 8s 5G's 33W. Whatever the rating, expect noticeably slower top-ups than on 33W-class rivals, and verify the bundled charger when buying used.

Software and Updates

Launching on Android 12 with Realme UI 3.0 gives the 9 5G a one-generation software advantage over the 8s 5G, which matters for app compatibility in 2026. Even so, it is a 2022 phone whose official update window is long over — do not expect current security patches. Check the installed Android version on the actual unit, confirm your banking and essential apps run on it, and be aware that Realme UI ships with pre-installed apps you will want to disable.

Connectivity and Additional Features

5G, 4G LTE, 3G, and 2G are supported with dual Nano-SIM standby; as always, real-world 5G depends on carrier availability in your area. The phone carries dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS with multi-constellation support, FM radio, USB-C with OTG, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. NFC is the question mark: one aggregator claims it, but it does not appear in the primary spec sheets, so buyers who need contactless payments should verify on the actual device rather than assume.

Variants, Colours and Availability

The 9 5G was sold as 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB in Meteor Black and Stardust White. Model number RMX3388 and the Dimensity 810 chipset in Settings are the reliable identifiers — they distinguish it from the Realme 9 (4G, Snapdragon 680) and from the Realme 8s 5G (Dimensity 810 but 64MP camera and 33W charging). The model is discontinued, so the market is used units; inspect carefully for the usual wear on a 2022 phone.

Price in Pakistan and PTA Information

No verified current price exists for the Realme 9 5G — it is discontinued, and aggregator figures disagree and are outdated. Confirm the latest used price directly with Zohaan Mobile Gallery rather than relying on old listings. PTA status must be verified per-device via 8484 or the PTA DIRBS portal, since used units may be imported or have unpaid tax; add any PTA cost to your budget. Zohaan's 7-day check warranty on used phones covers your testing window for the battery, both SIM slots, and cameras.

• Slim 188 g body with a 5000mAh battery
• 90Hz full-HD display is smooth for the class

Limitations to Consider

• 48MP main camera is a downgrade from the 8s 5G's 64MP
• Charging is slower than the 8s 5G's 33W (wattage unconfirmed)
• No ultrawide camera, no OIS, LCD instead of AMOLED
• NFC support unconfirmed — verify on the device if you need it
• 2022 software; security updates have ended

Who Should Consider This Phone?

The 9 5G fits used buyers who want 5G-capable Dimensity 810 hardware with a slightly newer Android base than the 8s 5G, and who value a slim, light body. It is a poor choice for anyone who assumed it matches the Realme 9 (4G)'s AMOLED display and 108MP camera — that is a different phone — and for buyers who prioritise fast charging or long software support.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the price of the Realme 9 5G in Pakistan?

It is discontinued and no verified current price exists. Used pricing varies with condition and variant — confirm the latest price directly with Zohaan Mobile Gallery.

Is the Realme 9 5G the same as the Realme 9?

No. The 9 5G uses the Dimensity 810 with a 90Hz LCD and 48MP camera; the Realme 9 (4G) uses the Snapdragon 680 with a 90Hz Super AMOLED display and 108MP camera. They are entirely different phones.

What is the difference between the Realme 9 5G and 8s 5G?

The 9 5G launched on Android 12 but dropped to a 48MP main camera and slower charging; the 8s 5G has a 64MP camera and 33W charging but launched on Android 11. Chipset and display are essentially the same.

Does the Realme 9 5G support 5G?

Yes, the Dimensity 810 supports 5G networks, with dual-SIM standby. Whether you get 5G service depends on your carrier's rollout in your area.

How good is the camera?

The 48MP main camera is fine for daylight photos, but there is no ultrawide, no OIS, and video is 1080p. It is a step behind both the 8s 5G and the 108MP Realme 9 (4G).

How fast does it charge?

It has a 5000mAh battery with fast charging, but the exact wattage could not be confirmed in checked sources — expect it to be slower than 33W-class rivals and check the bundled charger.

Does it have NFC?

NFC is claimed by one aggregator but does not appear in the primary spec sheets, so it is marked unconfirmed. If contactless payment matters to you, verify on the actual unit.

Is a used Realme 9 5G PTA approved?

Check per-device: send the IMEI to 8484 or use the PTA DIRBS portal before paying, and budget for any applicable PTA tax.

Final Verdict and Where to Buy in Pakistan

The Realme 9 5G is a competent used 5G mid-ranger — efficient Dimensity 810, 90Hz display, slim 5000mAh body, and Android 12 at launch. But its identity crisis is real: it is neither the camera phone the 8s 5G was nor the AMOLED 108MP phone the Realme 9 (4G) is. Buy it with eyes open — verify the model number, confirm the price with the store, check PTA status and battery health — and it delivers honest value as a daily driver.
