Realme Realme 8s 5G - Full Specifications, Features and Price in Pakistan

Introduction

The Realme 8s 5G was one of the first phones to bring MediaTek's Dimensity 810 chip to the affordable segment when it launched in September 2021, promising genuine 5G at a mid-range price. It is easy to confuse with the Realme 8i (Helio G96, 4G, 120Hz) and the later Realme 9 5G (same Dimensity 810, but a 48MP camera and slower charging). In Pakistan the 8s 5G was never officially launched, so units here are imports — a fact that shapes everything about buying one, from PTA status to warranty. This guide lays out its verified specifications and the extra checks import buyers should run.

Design and Build Quality

The 8s 5G measures 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.8 mm and weighs 191 g, with a glass front, plastic frame, and plastic back. Its camera island and two-tone finish in Universe Blue and Universe Purple give it a distinct look versus the plainer 8i. The fingerprint sensor is built into the power button on the side. There is no official ingress-protection rating, so treat it as splash-sensitive and use a case — replacement parts for an import-only model can be harder to source locally.

Display Features

A 6.5-inch IPS LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate and 1080 x 2400 resolution (about 405 ppi) handles the visuals. The 90Hz panel makes everyday scrolling smoother than 60Hz screens, though it is a step below the 8i's 120Hz. As an LCD it cannot match AMOLED contrast, and peak brightness is listed at 600 nits, which is workable outdoors but not class-leading. The selfie camera sits in a punch-hole, and the display is a sensible, battery-friendly choice for a 5G phone at this level.

Processor and Performance

The Dimensity 810 is a 6 nm chip with two Cortex-A76 cores at 2.4 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores, plus a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The move to a 6 nm process makes it more efficient than the 12 nm Helio G96 in the 8i, and it adds integrated 5G (SA/NSA). Real-world performance covers smooth multitasking and popular games at balanced settings. It will not trouble flagship chips, but for a used mid-ranger it remains competent — and the efficiency helps the 5000mAh battery stretch further than the raw capacity suggests.

RAM and Storage

Two configurations were sold: 6GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, both on UFS 2.1. Either is comfortable for Android 11-era multitasking, with the 8GB variant offering extra headroom. Like the 8i, the 8s 5G keeps a dedicated microSDXC slot, so you can add storage without giving up dual-SIM use — a practical advantage for buyers who carry two numbers.

Camera Features

The triple rear camera is led by a 64MP f/1.8 main sensor with PDAF, joined by 2MP macro and 2MP depth units, with 1080p@30fps video stabilised by gyro-EIS. The 64MP main is the 8s 5G's camera advantage over the later Realme 9 5G's 48MP unit, giving more detail in good light. There is still no ultrawide lens, and low-light performance is strictly mid-range. The 16MP front camera also records 1080p@30fps with gyro-EIS, which helps keep vlogs and video calls steadier than on unstabilised rivals.

Battery and Charging

The 5000mAh battery pairs with 33W Dart fast charging — a meaningful upgrade over the 8i's 18W, cutting full-charge times substantially. Combined with the efficient 6 nm chipset, endurance is a genuine strength: a full day of heavy use is realistic. There is no wireless charging. On a used import unit, verify that the original 33W-class charger is included and check battery health, since degraded cells charge and drain unevenly.

Software and Updates

It launched on Android 11 with Realme UI 2.0, and this is the phone's biggest caveat: as an India-first model from 2021, its update path is murky, and checked sources do not confirm a long-term update commitment. Assume the software is aging, check the actual Android version on the device, and make sure the apps you rely on — especially banking apps — still support it. Realme UI includes useful extras like app cloning and a game mode, but expect pre-installed bloat.

Connectivity and Additional Features

5G SA/NSA is supported alongside 4G LTE, 3G, and 2G, with dual Nano-SIM standby. Note that usable 5G depends on carrier rollout in your area — the hardware supports it, but 5G service availability in Pakistan should be confirmed with your network. Other connectivity includes dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS with GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou and QZSS, FM radio, USB-C with OTG, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There is no NFC.

Variants, Colours and Availability

The 8s 5G was sold as 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB in Universe Blue and Universe Purple. Because it was never officially launched in Pakistan, local units are imports — verify the exact model number (RMX3381) in Settings, confirm the Dimensity 810 chipset, and be extra careful that the box, charger, and accessories are genuine. Import status also means no official Realme Pakistan warranty applies; the store's own 7-day check warranty is what protects you.

Price in Pakistan and PTA Information

No verified current price exists for the Realme 8s 5G in Pakistan, and old aggregator figures are unreliable — confirm the latest used price directly with Zohaan Mobile Gallery. Because units here are imports, PTA compliance is the critical question: verify the specific unit's IMEI via 8484 or the PTA DIRBS portal before paying, and add any applicable PTA tax to your budget. A non-PTA unit may work on Wi-Fi but will lose mobile network access after the grace period. Use the 7-day check warranty to test the SIM slots, 5G/4G reception, and cameras thoroughly.

Main Advantages and Limitations

Key Advantages

• Dimensity 810 (6 nm) brings efficient performance and real 5G SA/NSA support
• 64MP main camera out-resolves the later Realme 9 5G's 48MP unit
• 33W Dart charging is meaningfully faster than the 8i's 18W
• 90Hz display plus 5000mAh battery is a balanced combo
• Dedicated microSD slot and 3.5mm jack retained

Limitations to Consider

• Never officially launched in Pakistan — units are imports with no local Realme warranty
• Launched on Android 11 with an unclear update future
• No ultrawide camera; LCD panel rather than AMOLED
• No NFC for contactless payments
• Spare parts and accessories harder to source locally than official models

Who Should Consider This Phone?

The 8s 5G suits buyers who specifically want affordable 5G hardware and a 64MP camera in the used market, and who are comfortable with the extra diligence import phones require — IMEI checks, PTA tax budgeting, and no manufacturer warranty. It is not for buyers who want hassle-free official warranty, the latest Android, or an AMOLED display; those buyers should consider officially launched used models like the Realme 9 Pro instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the price of the Realme 8s 5G in Pakistan?

There is no verified current price; the model was never officially launched in Pakistan and old aggregator figures are outdated. Confirm the latest used price directly with Zohaan Mobile Gallery.

Does the Realme 8s 5G support 5G?

Yes, the Dimensity 810 supports 5G SA/NSA. Actual 5G usability depends on carrier rollout in your area — the hardware is ready, but check with your network about service availability.

What is the difference between the Realme 8s 5G and Realme 9 5G?

Both use the Dimensity 810, but the 8s 5G has a 64MP main camera and 33W charging, while the 9 5G has a 48MP main camera, 18W charging, and launched on Android 12. The 9 5G is essentially a mild refresh.

What chipset does the Realme 8s 5G use?

The MediaTek Dimensity 810 (6 nm) with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU — efficient and 5G-capable, a step up in efficiency from the Helio G96 in the 4G-only Realme 8i.

How good is the camera?

The 64MP main camera captures detailed daylight shots and video gets gyro-EIS stabilisation, but there is no ultrawide lens and low-light results are average for the class.

How fast does it charge?

33W Dart fast charging refills the 5000mAh battery far quicker than the 18W charging on the Realme 8i. Make sure the original fast charger is included when buying used.

Is a used Realme 8s 5G PTA approved?

It must be checked per-device: text the IMEI to 8484 or use the PTA DIRBS portal. Import units are the norm for this model, so never assume approval.

Should I worry about software updates?

Yes — it launched on Android 11 and its long-term update path is unconfirmed. Check the Android version on the actual unit and confirm your essential apps still support it.

Final Verdict and Where to Buy in Pakistan

The Realme 8s 5G is a used-market specialist: efficient Dimensity 810 5G performance, a 64MP camera, 33W charging, and a 90Hz display make a well-rounded package. Its catch is entirely about provenance — as an import-only model in Pakistan, it demands IMEI verification, PTA tax budgeting, and acceptance of no official warranty. Buyers willing to do that homework get strong hardware for the money; buyers who want peace of mind should pick an officially launched alternative.
