Realme 16 5G — Full Specifications, Features & Price in Pakistan

Introduction

The Realme 16 5G is the entry point of Realme's 16 series, officially launched in Pakistan on April 6, 2026 at Rs 129,999 for the 8GB+256GB variant — alongside the 16 Pro (Rs 169,999) and 16 Pro+ (Rs 199,999). It is a genuinely launched phone, not a rumour: it ships with Android 16 and Realme UI 7.0, a Dimensity 6400 Turbo chipset, a 7000mAh battery and a unique rear 'selfie mirror' built into the horizontal camera bar. With official local warranty and PTA-registered stock, it is a safe, current-generation buy.

Design and Build Quality

The 16 5G stands apart visually with a horizontal camera bar across the back — reminiscent of Google's Pixel design language — finished in a 'Gleaming Wings' blue-gold gradient texture with a fine sand finish and anti-fingerprint coating. It measures 158.3 x 75.1 x 8.1 mm and weighs 183 grams, in Air Black or Air White. Durability is outstanding: IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings cover dust, submersion and even high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. The iPhone-Air-like slim styling makes it one of the better-looking phones in its class.

Display Features

A 6.57-inch AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2372), 120Hz refresh rate, 2160Hz PWM dimming, 1.07 billion colours and a claimed 4200 nits of peak brightness with DT Star D+ glass protection. It is a bright, smooth, compact display — well suited to one-handed use and strong outdoors. The 3000Hz instant touch sampling rate is a nice touch for gamers.

Processor and Performance

The MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo (6 nm) is an octa-core chip (2x Cortex-A76 at 2.5 GHz + 6x Cortex-A55) with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU — a higher-clocked refresh of the Dimensity 6400 in the 15T. Paired with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM, it handles daily multitasking and moderate gaming smoothly, with a 6050mm² vapour-chamber cooling system for sustained loads. It is an efficiency-first mid-range chip, not a performance flagship — the 16 Pro's Dimensity 7300-Max exists for buyers who need more.

RAM and Storage

The 16 5G comes with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage; Pakistan's official launch unit was 8GB+256GB. Note the UFS 2.2 storage — slower than the UFS 3.1 in the 15 series, a cost-saving measure worth knowing. microSD expansion was not confirmed in the specifications reviewed.

Camera Features

The rear system pairs a 50MP Sony IMX852 main sensor (f/1.8, autofocus) with a 2MP monochrome helper, supported by Realme's LumaColor image tuning for natural colour and skin tones. The signature feature is the rear selfie mirror with Aura Ring Flash: a small mirror in the camera bar that lets you frame self-portraits with the superior rear camera, with voice countdown and gesture recognition for hands-free shots. The front camera is a 50MP unit for conventional selfies. Video is capped at 1080p on available specifications — 4K recording was not confirmed, a notable limitation versus the 15 Pro.

Battery and Charging

The 7000mAh Titan battery is rated by Realme to retain over 80% health after 1,600 charge cycles — roughly six years of use. 60W wired charging reaches 50% in about 30 minutes and 100% in 74 minutes. Bypass charging powers the phone directly during gaming to reduce heat, and reverse charging can top up accessories. No wireless charging.

Software and Updates

A major selling point: Android 16 with Realme UI 7.0 out of the box, with 3 Android OS upgrades and 4 years of security updates confirmed. The Flux Engine provides AI-based resource management, and Realme claims a 72-month fluency protection plan for long-term smoothness. As one of the first mid-range phones shipping Android 16, software longevity is excellent.

Connectivity and Additional Features

5G with dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi 6 (per Gadgets360/GizmoChina; one source lists Wi-Fi 5 — minor conflict noted), Bluetooth 5.3/5.4, USB Type-C and full GNSS (BeiDou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS). The under-display optical fingerprint sensor, infrared remote blaster, stereo Hi-Res speakers and facial recognition round out the package.

Variants, Colours and Availability

India launched with 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB trims in Air Black and Air White; Pakistan's official launch brought the 8GB+256GB variant with dual Nano-SIM 5G. Official-channel stock means consistent box contents and warranty documentation.

Price in Pakistan and PTA Information
