Oppo Reno 6 (5G) — Full Specifications, Features & Price in Pakistan

The Oppo Reno 6 name covers two different phones: the Reno 6 5G (MediaTek Dimensity 900, 65W charging) launched internationally, and the Reno 6 4G (Snapdragon 720G, 50W charging) that launched in Pakistan in September 2021. This guide covers the Reno 6 5G, explains exactly how the two differ, and tells you how to check which one you are being offered.

Key Specifications at a Glance

Design and Build Quality

The Reno 6 5G is slim (7.6 mm) and light (182 g) with an aluminium frame, Gorilla Glass 5 front, and Oppo's Reno Glow-style finish. International colours were Aurora and Stellar Black. It feels noticeably more premium in hand than the plastic-backed mid-rangers around it, though there is no official water or dust resistance rating.

Display Features

The 6.43-inch AMOLED panel (1080 x 2400, ~409 ppi) with a 90Hz refresh rate delivers deep blacks and smooth scrolling — a clear step above LCD panels. Gorilla Glass 5 protects the front. Brightness figures for this variant were not separately verified, so treat third-party nit claims with caution.

Processor and Performance

The MediaTek Dimensity 900 (6nm) is an efficient 5G-capable chip with a Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. It sits a tier above the Snapdragon 720G of the 4G variant: better sustained performance, better efficiency, and genuine 5G connectivity for future-proofing on Pakistani networks as 5G rolls out. Everyday use and popular games run smoothly; it is a strong mid-range chip but not a flagship killer.

RAM and Storage

8GB RAM with 128GB (or 256GB in some markets) of internal storage. Note: there is no microSD slot on the 5G variant, so choose the 256GB version if you store a lot of video — you cannot expand later.

Camera Features

The triple rear setup is led by a 64MP f/1.7 main camera with PDAF, joined by an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro. The 32MP front camera is aimed at selfie-heavy users. Oppo's camera software includes AI beautification and night modes; as always, megapixels are only part of the story — check sample shots in the store before deciding. Video recording specifications beyond standard 4K support were not separately verified for this variant.

Battery and Charging

The 4,300mAh battery is paired with 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charging — the headline hardware feature of the 5G model (the 4G variant only gets 50W). A 65W charger can refill the phone dramatically faster than the 25–33W charging common in this segment. No wireless charging.

Software and Updates

Launched on Android 11 with ColorOS 11.3. As a 2021 model, its official update window is over — expect no new Android versions in 2026. ColorOS includes Oppo's usual extras; note that some users find pre-installed apps heavy, and this can usually be trimmed in settings.

Connectivity and Additional Features

Full 5G support (the key reason to choose this over the 4G variant), dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac/ax depending on region, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC (market/region dependent), USB-C 2.0, and dual-band GPS. Under-display optical fingerprint sensor plus face unlock. Sensors include accelerometer, gyro, compass, proximity, and a colour-temperature sensor.

Variants, Colours and Availability

International variants: 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB (availability varied by market). The Reno 6 5G was not the variant launched in Pakistan — the local launch was the 4G model — so 5G units in Pakistan are typically imported or used units. Always verify the exact variant (Dimensity 900 vs Snapdragon 720G) and PTA status of the specific unit.

This is the section that matters most. Oppo released several 'Reno 6' phones and sellers mix them up:

• Reno 6 5G (this article): Dimensity 900 chip, 6.43-inch display, 65W charging, 32MP selfie camera, 182 g.
• Reno 6 4G: Snapdragon 720G chip, 6.4-inch display, 50W charging, 44MP selfie camera, 173 g. This was the variant officially launched in Pakistan (September 2021, Rs. 64,999).
• Reno 6 Pro 5G: a bigger, more expensive phone — 6.55-inch display, Dimensity 1200 chip, 4,500mAh battery. Different model, different price.

Before paying, check the phone's Settings > About phone: 'Dimensity 900' means the 5G model; 'Snapdragon 720G' means the 4G model. The store's own Reno 6 product page currently mixes specifications from both variants, so confirm the exact variant with the store directly.

Price in Pakistan and PTA Information

Retailer listings priced the Reno6 5G around Rs. 68,110 (PhoneWorld, historic listing). The model is discontinued and 5G units in Pakistan are used/imported, so current prices vary widely with condition and PTA status. The store's catalogue lists the Reno 6 at Rs. 30,000 — but its page mixes 4G and 5G specifications, so confirm the exact variant and current price with Zohaan Mobile Gallery before buying.

PTA: PTA approval applies per device and IMEI, not per model — and imported 5G-variant units need particular attention. Before paying, send the phone's IMEI to 8484 and confirm 'Compliant' status. How to check PTA approval.

Main Advantages and Limitations

Advantages:

• Dimensity 900 with genuine 5G — faster and more future-proof than the 4G variant
• 65W SuperVOOC charging — among the fastest in its class
• 90Hz AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 5
• Slim, light aluminium-frame build

Limitations:

• Variant confusion is rampant — 4G and 5G models are sold under the same 'Reno 6' name
• No microSD expansion
• Discontinued; no ongoing software updates
• No verified water/dust resistance rating

Who Should Consider This Phone?

Good fit: buyers who specifically want the 5G variant's faster chip and 65W charging in a slim body — and who verify the variant before paying.

Look elsewhere if: you cannot confirm whether a unit is the 4G or 5G version, you need expandable storage, or you want current software support — compare alternatives in the Oppo collection or all mobiles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Final Verdict

The Reno 6 5G is a genuinely good mid-range phone — Dimensity 900, 90Hz AMOLED, 65W charging, slim build — but the 'Reno 6' name is a minefield of mixed listings. The phone is worth buying only if you verify the variant first. Get the Dimensity 900 unit confirmed, check PTA via 8484, and you have a fast, future-proofed 5G mid-ranger.
