Huawei Y8s — Full Specifications, Features & Price in Pakistan

Because it launched after May 2019, it ships with HMS (Huawei Mobile Services) and no Google Play Services, though some spec listings disagree. Design and Build Quality
The Y8s shares its body with the Y9 2019 (162.4 x 77.1 x 8.1 mm, 180 g) — a 6.5-inch phone with a wide notch housing the dual front cameras. It came in Emerald Green and Midnight Black with a glass front and plastic back/frame. The rear-mounted fingerprint scanner is quick and reliable. On used units, check the notch sensors and rear panel for wear.
Display Features
The 6.5-inch IPS LCD delivers 1080 x 2340 Full HD+ resolution (~396 ppi) — sharp text and good detail for video. It is a 60Hz panel with standard IPS colours. A solid, no-surprises display for the price.
Processor and Performance
The Kirin 710 (12 nm, 4 x Cortex-A73 at 2.2 GHz + 4 x Cortex-A53 at 1.7 GHz, Mali-G51 MP4) with 4GB of RAM handles everyday apps smoothly and copes with casual gaming. It is a 2020 mid-range chip — fine for social apps, browsing, and video in 2026, but not a performance phone. Essentially the same class as the Y7a's Kirin 710A and the Y7p's Kirin 710F.
RAM and Storage
4GB of RAM with 64GB or 128GB of storage depending on variant — the 128GB version is the better buy if available. Expansion is via microSD in a dedicated slot, so dual-SIM users keep both SIMs. 64GB fills quickly; prefer the 128GB variant.
Camera Features
The dual rear camera pairs a 48MP main sensor (f/1.8, PDAF) with a 2MP depth sensor, LED flash, and 1080p video — the 48MP sensor is the phone's main selling point and takes good daylight photos. The unusual feature is the dual front camera: 8MP main + 2MP depth sensor for portrait selfies with bokeh — rare at this price in 2020.
Battery and Charging
A 4,000mAh battery covers a full day of moderate use. Charging is 10W over microUSB — slow by modern standards. No wireless charging. On used units, check battery health, since the rated capacity is from 2020.
Software and Updates
Runs Android 9 (Pie) with EMUI 9.1 on Huawei Mobile Services. Important: the Y8s launched in May 2020, after the May 2019 Google-services cutoff, so it ships without Google Play Services — apps come from AppGallery. Note that some spec sites list "Google Play Services" for this model; treat those listings as inaccurate and assume HMS-only. Verify your essential apps run on HMS before buying. Official updates have ended.
Connectivity and Additional Features
GSM / HSPA / LTE with single or dual Nano-SIM (market dependent). Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS with A-GPS/GLONASS/BDS, FM radio, 3.5mm headphone jack, and microUSB 2.0. No NFC. Sensors: rear fingerprint, accelerometer, proximity, compass.
Variants, Colours and Availability
Sold in 4GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB variants in Emerald Green and Midnight Black. The Y8s shares its chassis with the Y9 2019 but differs in cameras (48MP rear, dual front) and software (HMS-only). Do not confuse it with the Y9 2019 (full Google apps) or the Y8p (OLED, in-display fingerprint). Discontinued; only used units remain.

Final Verdict
The Huawei Y8s is a niche pick: a 48MP camera and dual selfie cameras for ~Rs. 30,000 used, held back by HMS-only software and slow charging. Buy it for the cameras if your apps run on HMS; otherwise the Y9 2019's full Google apps make it the safer sibling.
