Huawei Y625 — Full Specifications, Features & Price in Pakistan

The Huawei Y625 is a 2015 ultra-budget phone that now sells in Pakistan for around Rs. 3,000 used. Read this guide carefully before buying one: it is 3G-only and runs Android 4.4, which means most modern apps — including current WhatsApp — will not run on it. Below are its verified specifications and the narrow, honest use cases where it still makes sense in 2026.

Key Specifications at a Glance

Design and Build Quality

Simple plastic candybar design, 9.6 mm thick and 160 g. Nothing premium, nothing fragile — a plain tool-phone build. On a used unit, check the charging port and earpiece, the two parts that fail first on phones this old.

Display Features

A 5.0-inch IPS LCD at 480 x 854 (~196 ppi). In plain terms: visibly coarse — text and icons look pixelated next to any modern phone. Adequate for dialling, SMS, and the FM radio screen; poor for reading long articles or watching video.

Processor and Performance

The Snapdragon 200 is a quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 chip from 2014 with Adreno 302 graphics. It was entry-level even in 2015. In 2026, treat it as a calls-and-SMS processor: the built-in apps run, but modern apps and web pages will crawl or refuse to install.

RAM and Storage

1GB of RAM and just 4GB of built-in storage — of which the system eats a large share. A microSD card (up to 32GB) is practically mandatory for any photos or music. Do not expect to install more than a handful of apps.

Camera Features

An 8MP rear camera with LED flash (720p video) and a 2MP front camera. On paper 8MP sounds fine, but the small sensor and fixed focus mean soft, noisy photos — usable for a quick record shot, not for memories you'd print.

Battery and Charging

2,000mAh. Small by any standard, but the undemanding hardware sips power, so standby stretches well. For calls and SMS duty it lasts the day; any real screen time drains it fast. Carry expectations, not a power bank — at this price the phone is nearly disposable.

Software and Updates

Android 4.4.2 KitKat with EMUI 2.3 Lite. This is the single biggest caveat: KitKat-era phones cannot run current WhatsApp (which requires Android 5.0+), current banking apps, or most updated Google apps, and the old Play Services will nag or fail. Buy this phone only if you do not need modern apps.

Connectivity and Additional Features

3G HSPA only — there is no 4G LTE on the Y625, full stop. It also has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, FM radio, and microUSB 2.0. The FM radio is arguably its best "smart" feature today. Note: with 3G networks being wound down in many regions, confirm your carrier still serves your area on 3G before buying a 3G-only phone.

Variants, Colours and Availability

One configuration: 1GB + 4GB in Black or White. Announced April 2015 and long discontinued — every unit available today is used, and at Rs. 3,000 the condition lottery is real. Test calls, SMS, and charging in the shop.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the price of the Huawei Y625 in Pakistan?

No. It is 3G-only (HSDPA) with no 4G LTE hardware. Do not buy it expecting 4G.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 (MSM8212), quad-core 1.2 GHz — some listings wrongly say Snapdragon 410.

Final Verdict

The Y625 is honest only when bought for what it is: a Rs. 3,000 calls-and-SMS phone with an FM radio. It cannot run WhatsApp or 4G, and no price makes those limitations disappear. If your needs are truly that basic — an elder's phone, a backup — it does the job. Anything more, and you need a different phone.
