Huawei Pura X — Full Specifications, Features & Price in Pakistan

The Huawei Pura X is Huawei's unusual "wide-fold" foldable — a flip-style phone that opens into a broad 16:10 screen. Launched in China on 20 March 2025, it runs HarmonyOS 5.0, which means no Google apps or services. It has not been officially launched in Pakistan; local listings show an expected price of around Rs. 289,999 (not official). This guide covers the verified specifications and what the China-only release means for Pakistani buyers.

Design and Build Quality

The Pura X folds differently from anything else: instead of a tall book-style fold, it opens sideways into a wide 16:10 canvas — compact when folded (91.7 x 74.3 x 15.1 mm), close to a mini tablet when open. The body uses a titanium alloy support layer, ultra-thin glass (UTG) and a basalt "water-drop" hinge, with IPX8 water resistance (up to 2m for 30 minutes) — rare for a foldable. At 193.7–195.9 grams it is lighter than most book-style foldables. Five colours: Stylish Red, Stylish Green, Moon Shadow Gray, Zero White, Magic Night Black.

Display Features

The headline display is a 6.3-inch foldable LTPO2 OLED, 16:10 at 1320 x 2120 (~396 ppi): 1 billion colours, HDR Vivid, adaptive 120Hz, 2,500 nits peak. The square 3.5-inch cover display (980 x 980, 120Hz LTPO2 OLED) handles notifications and widgets and doubles as a viewfinder for rear-camera selfies. The 16:10 ratio is genuinely better for video and reading than rival foldables' skinny screens.

Processor and Performance

The Pura X runs on the Kirin 9020 — Huawei's octa-core chip (1x2.5 GHz + 3x2.15 GHz Taishan, 4x1.53 GHz Cortex-A510) with Maleoon 920 GPU: 5G-capable and flagship-class. Independent benchmarks were not verified, so treat retailer claims cautiously; the spec sheet points to smooth everyday performance and competent gaming. Kirin only — no Snapdragon/MediaTek variant.

RAM and Storage

Standard models ship with 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage; the Collector's Edition offers 16GB of RAM with 512GB or 1TB. No microSD slot, so choose storage at purchase — the 1TB model is the only route to very large capacity.

Camera Features

The triple camera uses Huawei's XMAGE imaging: 50MP main (f/1.6, PDAF, OIS), 40MP ultra-wide (f/2.2, AF) and 8MP telephoto (f/2.4, 3.5x zoom, OIS), plus colour-spectrum sensor, laser AF, LED flash and 4K HDR Vivid video. The 10.7MP f/2.2 front camera is fine, but the best selfies use the rear cameras with the cover screen as viewfinder. The 40MP ultra-wide is unusually high-resolution for the category.

Battery and Charging

A 4,720mAh battery with 66W wired and 40W wireless charging — both faster than most Western flagships — plus 7.5W reverse wireless for accessories. The foldable 120Hz screen draws more power than a slab phone, so expect roughly a day of mixed use. 40W wireless is a genuine advantage over most foldables.

Software and Updates

This is the critical section for Pakistani buyers. The Pura X runs HarmonyOS 5.0 — Huawei's independent OS, not Android — with no Google apps, Play Store or Play Services. Apps come from Huawei's AppGallery and third-party sources. Pakistani essentials like banking apps, JazzCash/Easypaisa, food delivery and ride-hailing often depend on Google services, so compatibility must be verified app by app before you commit. Huawei's update commitment was not officially confirmed.

Connectivity and Additional Features

Network: GSM, CDMA, HSPA, EVDO, LTE and 5G (SA/NSA), dual nano-SIM. Also Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac/6/7 (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, infrared, USB Type-C 3.1 with OTG/DisplayPort, multi-constellation GPS, side-mounted fingerprint, and no 3.5mm jack.

Variants, Colours and Availability

Verified configurations: 12GB + 256GB (base), 12GB + 512GB, and the Collector's Edition (16GB + 512GB / 1TB). Colours: Stylish Red, Stylish Green, Moon Shadow Gray, Zero White, Magic Night Black. Launched in China on 20 March 2025 from CNY 7,499 (~$1,037); no confirmed Pakistan release — local buyers can only get imported units, typically with no official Huawei Pakistan warranty.

Price in Pakistan and PTA Information

The expected price in Pakistan is Rs. 289,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant (mobileinto.com, updated 9 October 2026; phonebolee lists the same figure) — an expected/unofficial estimate, not an official Huawei Pakistan price. Grey-market foldable prices move with the exchange rate, so confirm the current asking price with Zohaan Mobile Gallery.

PTA: PTA approval applies per device and IMEI, not per model. Before paying, send the phone's IMEI to 8484 and confirm "Compliant" status. How to check PTA approval.

PTA note for imported units: because the Pura X is not officially sold in Pakistan, units are imported. PTA status is still per-device — verify the specific unit's IMEI via SMS to 8484, and note that unregistered imported phones may attract PTA registration tax to work fully on local networks.

Main Advantages and Limitations

Advantages:

• Unique wide-fold 16:10 design — better for video and reading than rival foldables
• Bright dual 120Hz LTPO2 OLED displays (2,500 nits peak main screen)
• Flagship triple camera: 50MP main, 40MP ultra-wide, 3.5x telephoto
• 66W wired + 40W wireless charging; IPX8 water resistance
• 5G connectivity, dual SIM

Limitations:

• No Google apps or Play Services — HarmonyOS 5.0 only; many Pakistani apps may not work
• Not officially launched in Pakistan — no official local warranty
• Expected price is unofficial and high (~Rs. 289,999)
• No microSD expansion; foldable durability questions remain
• PTA registration costs may apply on imported units

Who Should Consider This Phone?

Good fit: foldable enthusiasts and tech collectors who understand exactly what HarmonyOS 5.0 means, are comfortable sourcing apps outside the Play Store, and can buy through a trusted importer with a clear return policy.

Look elsewhere if: you depend on Google services, Pakistani banking/payment apps, or official warranty support — a conventional flagship with full Play Store support from the all-mobiles collection is the safer choice.

Final Verdict

The Pura X is a genuinely interesting foldable — wide 16:10 fold, bright 120Hz displays, strong cameras, fast charging. But the honest verdict for Pakistan is cautious: China-only release means unofficial pricing, no local warranty, likely PTA tax, and above all no Google services. Buy only if you know exactly what you're getting into.
