Huawei Pura 90 — Full Specifications, Features & Price in Pakistan

The Huawei Pura 90 is the base model of Huawei's 2026 flagship series, launched in China on 20 April 2026 with general availability from late April, followed by a global launch event in Kuala Lumpur on 14 July 2026. Its headline is endurance: a 6,500mAh battery — the largest in the Pura 90 family — in a slim 7.0mm body. Like every Huawei flagship since 2019, this phone runs on Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) — there are no Google Play Services, no Play Store, and no native Google apps. Apps come from Huawei AppGallery or third-party sources. If your daily life depends on Google apps, banking apps, or Google-backed services, verify compatibility before buying.

Key Specifications at a Glance

Design and Build Quality

The Pura 90 makes an unusual first impression: a 6.8-inch flagship that is just 7.0mm thin and 210 g — slimmer than its Pro siblings despite packing the biggest battery of the series. Huawei skipped the Pro models' gradient finishes here; the Pura 90 comes in restrained Snow White, Velvet Black, and Roland Purple with the series' triangular camera module. The build is still fully flagship: glass and aluminium, IP68/IP69 sealing, Kunlun Glass over the display, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Display Features

The 6.8-inch LTPO OLED delivers 1320 x 2856 resolution (~463ppi) with an adaptive 1–120Hz refresh rate, HDR Vivid, and a 300Hz touch sampling rate. It is a flat 2.5D panel — Huawei moved the whole Pura 90 line away from curved screens — which makes screen protectors easy to fit and kills accidental edge touches. Bright, sharp, and practical.

Processor and Performance

The Kirin 9010S (third-party reported, 7nm) powers the base Pura 90 — a step below the Kirin 9030S in the Pro models. Huawei does not publish chip details, so this is reported rather than official. Expect smooth flagship-level daily performance and competent gaming; the silicon is not the reason to buy this phone, the battery is.

RAM and Storage

12GB or 16GB of RAM with 256GB or 512GB of storage (no 1TB tier on the base model, per spec databases) and no microSD slot. 12GB + 256GB is the sensible mainstream pick; the 16GB + 512GB tier suits long-term owners.

Camera Features

The triple rear camera centres on a 50MP main (f/1.8, OIS) with Huawei's second-generation Red Maple colour imaging, joined by a 50MP periscope telephoto at roughly 3.7x optical with OIS and a 12.5MP ultrawide. The front camera is where reports conflict: mobileinto and PhoneBunch list a 50MP autofocus selfie camera with 4K video, while Gadgets360 and Giztop list 13MP. Treat the 50MP figure as reported-but-unconfirmed. Either way, XMAGE processing, laser AF, and 4K video are part of the package.

Battery and Charging

The 6,500mAh battery is the Pura 90's defining feature — larger than the 6,000mAh in the Pro and Pro Max, and remarkable in a 7.0mm body. Two-day light use is plausible; heavy users will still end the day with charge to spare. Charging is 100W wired and 50W wireless with reverse charging support, so refuelling is fast however you do it.

Software and Updates

HarmonyOS 6.1 ships on the Chinese units, bringing Huawei's AI photography tools (pose guidance, composition suggestions, style cards), the Xiaoyi assistant, and Beidou satellite messaging (China only). International software details for the base model were unclear at the time of writing — confirm the build on the exact unit before buying.

Connectivity and Additional Features

5G, dual nano-SIM (no eSIM on the base model, per launch reporting), Wi-Fi 6/7 class, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and USB Type-C. Huawei Histen stereo sound, IP68/IP69, and an infrared sensor round out a complete flagship connectivity set — minus the headphone jack and card slot, as usual.

Variants, Colours and Availability

Variants: 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 512GB in Snow White, Velvet Black, and Roland Purple. The series launched in China on 20 April 2026 (from 4,699 yuan, roughly $690) with a global event on 14 July 2026 — though global coverage focused on the Pro/Pro Max and the "90s" branding in markets like Malaysia, leaving the base model's international footprint unclear. No official Pakistan launch; local units are unofficial imports.

Price in Pakistan and PTA Information

The expected unofficial price in Pakistan is Rs. 214,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant (mobileinto.com, October 2026), rising to Rs. 234,999 (12+512) and Rs. 254,999 (16+512); mobile-phone.pk estimates ~Rs. 265,400. These are import-market estimates — confirm the live figure with Zohaan Mobile Gallery before budgeting.

PTA: PTA approval is per device and IMEI, not per model. These Pura phones reach Pakistan through unofficial/import channels, so before paying, send the phone's IMEI by SMS to 8484 and confirm "Compliant" status. How to check PTA approval and what PTA approval means.

Final Verdict

The Pura 90 is the endurance pick of Huawei's 2026 line: biggest battery, slimmest body, and a genuine periscope zoom at the entry price. The Kirin 9010S and the HMS ecosystem are the compromises you accept for it. If battery life tops your priority list and AppGallery covers your apps, it is a compelling import.
