Huawei P40 Lite 5G — Full Specifications, Features & Price in Pakistan

The Huawei P40 Lite 5G is a rebrand of the Nova 7 SE, and it is the only phone in this guide's P40 Lite trio with 5G: the Kirin 820 5G chip, a 64MP quad camera, and 40W charging in a 6.5-inch body. Launched in May 2020, it was one of the cheapest 5G phones of its generation. The familiar caveat applies: no Google apps — HMS only. This guide covers the specs, the scattered Pakistan pricing, and whether 5G makes it the pick of the Lite models.

Key Specifications at a Glance

Design and Build Quality

The P40 Lite 5G uses a 6.5-inch punch-hole display with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor in the power button, a glass front, and a plastic back and frame. At 162.3 x 75 x 8.6 mm and 189 g it is the largest of the Lite models — a proper two-handed phone. Colours are Crush Green, Space Silver, and Midnight Black. The 3.5mm headphone jack survives here, and NFC is included (unlike the 4G P40 Lite).

Display Features

The 6.5-inch IPS LCD (1080 x 2400, ~405 ppi) supports HDR10 — a nice touch at this tier — with a punch-hole selfie camera. It is a standard 60Hz LCD: fine for video and reading, but without the deep blacks of OLED or the smoothness of high-refresh panels. For a budget 5G phone of 2020, the display was competitive; in 2026 it is simply adequate.

Processor and Performance

The Kirin 820 5G (7 nm) was a standout mid-range chip in 2020 — octa-core (1 x 2.36 GHz Cortex-A76 + 3 x 2.22 GHz Cortex-A76 + 4 x 1.84 GHz Cortex-A55) with Mali-G57 graphics and an integrated 5G modem. It outpaces the Kirin 810 in the 4G P40 Lite and handles daily use plus moderate gaming comfortably. The integrated 5G modem supports SA/NSA bands 1/3/28/38/41/77/78/79 per spec listings — genuine 5G hardware, though Pakistan's networks will decide when you can use it.

RAM and Storage

6GB RAM and 128GB storage is the standard configuration (an 8GB variant exists in some markets). 6GB keeps multitasking smooth, and 128GB is workable with the Nano Memory slot (up to 256GB, shared with SIM 2) as backup. As with all Huawei phones of this era, Nano Memory cards cost more than microSD — factor that in if you need expansion.

Camera Features

The quad camera steps up to a 64MP main sensor (f/1.8, PDAF) — the highest resolution in the Lite trio — joined by an 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor, with 4K video recording. Daylight shots are detailed and competitive for the class; low-light performance is mid-range. The 16MP punch-hole front camera is solid for selfies. It is not the P40's Leica system, but it is the best camera among the three Lite models.

Battery and Charging

A 4,000mAh battery with 40W SuperCharge (70% in about 30 minutes advertised, plus 5W reverse wired charging per spec listings). Full-day battery life for typical use, and the fast charging remains a genuine convenience. On a used unit, confirm 40W charging still engages — a worn battery or non-original charger will silently drop to slow charging.

Software and Updates

Android 10 with EMUI 10.1, and — like every P40-series phone — HMS only, with no Google Play Services. The Nova 7 SE rebrand changes nothing about this: no Play Store, no Google apps, and the usual risks with banking and government apps. AppGallery and Petal Search cover the mainstream, but verify your must-have apps on the actual unit before paying. Official updates have ended.

Connectivity and Additional Features

5G (SA/NSA) + 4G LTE, dual Nano-SIM standby, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and USB Type-C 2.0 with OTG. Sensors: side-mounted fingerprint, accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, proximity. The 3.5mm headphone jack is present; FM radio is not. This is the best-connected phone of the Lite trio — 5G, NFC, and a headphone jack together.

Variants, Colours and Availability

The standard variant is 6GB + 128GB (model CDY-NX9A in spec listings); an 8GB + 128GB version exists in some markets. The P40 Lite 5G is a rebranded Nova 7 SE — identical hardware under a different name. Colours: Crush Green, Space Silver, Midnight Black. Announced May 2020 and released late May/June 2020; it saw limited official Pakistan availability, so the local market is used units. Do not confuse it with the 4G P40 Lite (Kirin 810, no 5G, no NFC) or the P40 Lite E (Kirin 710F).

Price in Pakistan and PTA Information

Listed prices for the Huawei P40 Lite 5G in Pakistan are scattered — a sign of a thin market: Rs. 63,499 on mobilemall, Rs. 83,061 on technologistan (converted from a $299.99 overseas listing, September 2026), Rs. 48,300 on mobgsm, and Rs. 112,907 on giznext (expected). These are dated listing estimates, not current market prices — our catalog reference is Rs. 131,600. Used units trade below these figures. Confirm the actual current price with Zohaan Mobile Gallery before buying, and sanity-check any quote against the 4G P40 Lite — the 5G version should cost more, but not double.

PTA: PTA approval applies per device and IMEI, not per model. Before paying, send the phone's IMEI to 8484 and confirm "Compliant" status. What is PTA approval | How to check PTA approval | How to check IMEI.

Who Should Consider This Phone?

Good fit: buyers who want the most capable Lite — 5G hardware, the best Lite camera, and fast charging — at a used price, and whose apps work without Google services. A reasonable 5G future-proofing bet on a budget.

Look elsewhere if: you need Google apps or an OLED display — compare the P30 series or non-Huawei options in the all mobiles collection.

Final Verdict

The P40 Lite 5G is the pick of the Lite trio on hardware: real 5G, the best Lite camera, 40W charging, NFC, and the strongest chip. The HMS-only software is the same filter as its siblings — pass your app test first. Then haggle hard: the scattered list prices mean informed buyers set the price, not the listing.
