Huawei Nova Y72 — Full Specifications, Features & Price in Pakistan

The Huawei Nova Y72 is the 2024 successor to the Nova Y71 and one of the few recent Huawei phones with an official Pakistan price: Rs. 59,999 for 8GB + 128GB. It keeps the Y-series formula — 6.75-inch display, Kirin 710A, 6,000mAh battery — while upgrading the main camera to 50MP and adding NFC. It runs EMUI 12 without Google Play Services. This guide covers the verified specifications, the official pricing, and the Y71-versus-Y72 decision.

Key Specifications at a Glance

Design and Build Quality

The Y72 carries the Y-series look forward: a tall 6.75-inch body in Black or Green, flat edges, a dual-camera module and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. At 207g it is the heaviest phone in this guide — all battery. The Green colour option is a pleasant change from the usual black. Construction is plastic, solid rather than stylish, and the phone is splash/dust resistant per some listings (no official IP rating confirmed).

Display Features

The 6.75-inch TFT LCD at HD+ resolution is carried over from the Y71 formula — and it is the same compromise: ~260 ppi looks soft for text, and there is no high refresh rate. At Rs. 59,999 this is harder to defend than on the cheaper Y71, because Full-HD 90Hz panels are common at this price from rivals. If you watch mostly video, it is fine; if you read or browse heavily, test it in person first.

Processor and Performance

The Kirin 710A returns — the same 14nm chip as the 2023 Y71. It handles everyday use (social apps, streaming, calls, light games) acceptably, with 8GB of RAM keeping multitasking smooth, but it is not a performance upgrade in any sense. Buying the Y72 for speed would be a mistake; buy it for the battery, camera and official pricing. Heavy gamers and power users should look elsewhere.

RAM and Storage

8GB of RAM with 128GB of storage. Some listings mention a 256GB variant, but it is unconfirmed for Pakistan — assume 128GB. The important caveat: most Pakistan listings report no card slot (one source claims Nano Memory support, unverified), so unlike the Y71, you probably cannot expand storage. 128GB has to last; plan accordingly.

Camera Features

The headline upgrade over the Y71: a 50MP main camera (f/1.8, AF) replacing the 48MP sensor, paired with a 2MP macro. Daylight photos are a step up in detail, though the Y72 drops the Y71's 5MP ultrawide — a real trade-off for landscape and group shots. The 8MP front camera is unchanged. Video is 1080p. Net: better main camera, less versatile overall setup than the Y71.

Battery and Charging

6,000mAh with 22.5W wired charging — the Y72's core strength, unchanged from its sibling. Two days of moderate use is realistic. The 22.5W charging is unhurried for a battery this size but gets the job done. No wireless charging, as expected at this price.

Software and Updates

Pakistan listings show EMUI 12; China units run HarmonyOS 4.0 — the software name varies by region, but the condition is identical: no Google Play Services. Huawei's interface is polished, and AppGallery plus sideloading covers the essentials, but Google Maps, Gmail and YouTube do not run natively. Confirm your must-have apps work without Google services before buying.

Connectivity and Additional Features

4G LTE on dual Nano-SIM, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, full satellite positioning and USB Type-C with OTG. NFC is included per Pakistan listings — a genuine advantage over the Y71 and several rivals at this price. No 5G; the Kirin 710A is 4G-only.

Variants, Colours and Availability

The verified Pakistan configuration is 8GB + 128GB in Black and Green at the official Rs. 59,999. A 256GB variant appears on some listings but is unconfirmed — do not pay a premium for it without verification. Zohaan Mobile Gallery's catalog reference is Rs. 75,999, which is above the official price; confirm the live store price, since official-channel stock should track Rs. 59,999.

Price in Pakistan and PTA Information

The huawei nova y72 price in pakistan is official: Rs. 59,999 for 8GB + 128GB (mobileinto.com official-price listing; directories.parhlo.com box price, October 2026). That official figure is the Y72's advantage over grey-market siblings — it anchors the price. Zohaan Mobile Gallery's catalog reference of Rs. 75,999 is higher than official; check the Nova Y72 page or WhatsApp the store for the confirmed current price.

PTA: PTA approval applies per device and IMEI, not per model. Before paying, send the phone's IMEI to 8484 and confirm "Compliant" status. How to check PTA approval.

Main Advantages and Limitations

Advantages:

• Official Pakistan price of Rs. 59,999 — no grey-market guessing
• 50MP main camera (f/1.8, AF)
• 6,000mAh battery with 22.5W charging
• 8GB RAM; NFC included
• Large 6.75-inch display for media
• Side-mounted fingerprint sensor

Limitations:

• No Google Play Services (EMUI 12 / HarmonyOS 4.0, HMS only)
• HD+ 60Hz display is soft for Rs. 60,000
• Same Kirin 710A as the cheaper 2023 Y71 — no performance gain
• Probably no card slot (disputed) — 128GB is final
• No ultrawide camera (the Y71 had one)
• No 5G

Who Should Consider This Phone?

Good fit: buyers who want an officially priced Huawei with a 50MP camera and two-day battery; NFC users; anyone choosing between the Y71 and Y72 who values the newer camera and official price over the card slot and ultrawide.

Look elsewhere if: you need Google apps, want a sharp or high-refresh display, need storage expansion, or want more performance per rupee — the Y71 (cheaper, card slot, ultrawide) or FHD rivals deserve a look first.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the official price of the Huawei Nova Y72 in Pakistan?

Rs. 59,999 for 8GB + 128GB — an official Huawei price listed by mobileinto.com and directories.parhlo.com (October 2026). Confirm the live store price, as catalog references vary.

What are its key specifications?

Kirin 710A, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 6.75-inch HD+ display, 50MP + 2MP rear cameras, 8MP front camera, 6,000mAh battery with 22.5W charging, NFC, and EMUI 12 without Google services.

How is it different from the Nova Y71?

Newer 50MP main camera and NFC, but no ultrawide lens and probably no card slot (the Y71 has both). Same chip, same battery, higher price — the Y72's edge is the official Rs. 59,999 pricing.

Does it have a memory card slot?

Disputed. Most Pakistan listings report no card slot; one source claims Nano Memory support. Treat expansion as unavailable unless the seller demonstrates it.

Does the Nova Y72 have Google Play Store?

No. EMUI 12 (Pakistan) / HarmonyOS 4.0 (China), Huawei Mobile Services only — no Google Play Services.

Does it support 5G?

No. The Kirin 710A is 4G-only hardware.

Which OS does it run?

EMUI 12 on Pakistan listings; HarmonyOS 4.0 on China units. Functionally equivalent for the buyer — neither includes Google services.

Is it PTA approved?

PTA status is per device, not per model. Verify the specific unit's IMEI by SMS to 8484 before purchase.

Final Verdict

The Nova Y72's official Rs. 59,999 price is its best feature — it removes the pricing guesswork that plagues grey-market Huaweis. Beyond that, it is a careful sideways move from the Y71: better main camera and NFC, but no ultrawide, probably no card slot, the same chip and a soft HD+ display. Buy it if you want the newest officially priced Y phone and can live without Google apps; buy the Y71 if the card slot and ultrawide matter more and the price is lower.
