Huawei Nova 5i — Full Specifications, Features & Price in Pakistan

The Huawei Nova 5i took the popular Nova 3i formula and fixed its biggest weakness: a 4,000 mAh battery, plus a punch-hole display and quad cameras. It runs the Kirin 710F chip and keeps the headphone jack and microSD slot that the pricier Nova 5 models dropped. This guide covers its verified specs and the key caveats — including Google apps — for used buyers in Pakistan.

Design and Build Quality

The Nova 5i adopts the punch-hole display instead of a notch, giving it a cleaner, more modern face than the Nova 3i. At 178g and 8.3mm it is chunkier than its predecessor — the price of the bigger battery. Gradient Blue is the signature finish. The rear fingerprint sensor is fast, and unlike the Nova 5/5 Pro, the 3.5mm headphone jack survives here. Build is plastic frame with a glass-feel back; durable enough for daily use with a case.

Display Features

The 6.4-inch IPS LCD at 1080 x 2310 (~399 ppi) with DCI-P3 colour support is sharp and pleasant, and the punch hole is less intrusive than a notch. It's a solid media screen for the used price — though it can't match the Nova 5's OLED for contrast. 60Hz refresh, adequate brightness indoors, washed out in harsh sunlight like most LCDs of its era.

Processor and Performance

The Kirin 710F is a minor revision of the Kirin 710 (same CPU/GPU clocks, tweaked manufacturing) — performance is effectively identical to the Nova 3i and Nova 4e: fine for calls, WhatsApp, social apps, and YouTube, but not for heavy multitasking or modern gaming. The 6GB RAM standard (with an 8GB variant in some regions) helps it feel smoother than the 4GB Nova 3i. Set expectations at "reliable basic smartphone."

RAM and Storage

6GB of RAM with 128GB storage is the common configuration, and an 8GB RAM version exists in some markets — check the actual unit. microSD expansion up to 512GB uses the hybrid second SIM slot. 6GB RAM is a meaningful upgrade over the Nova 3i's 4GB for keeping apps alive in the background.

Camera Features

Quad rear cameras: 24MP main (f/1.8, PDAF), 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth — a versatile setup for the price, with the ultrawide being genuinely useful. The 24MP punch-hole selfie camera takes good daylight selfies. Video is 1080p. Low-light results are average; night mode helps but can't work miracles on this sensor generation. As with all used phones, test every lens including macro and ultrawide.

Battery and Charging

The 4,000 mAh battery is the Nova 5i's headline upgrade over the Nova 3i — the largest battery in this article's batch, good for a full day of moderate use even on an aged unit. The catch: charging is only 10W per WhatMobile, so full charges take a while; faster charging speeds claimed by some listings are unconfirmed. If you charge overnight, this doesn't matter; if you top up during the day, it's slow.

Software and Updates

Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9.1 out of the box, and no further major upgrades. The caveat: launched June 2019, after the May 16, 2019 US restrictions — so Google Mobile Services are not guaranteed. Check for the Play Store on the actual unit before buying; don't rely on a seller's assurance. If certified Google apps are essential, the March-2019 Nova 4e is the safer alternative with nearly identical performance.

Connectivity and Additional Features

4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/GLONASS/BDS, USB Type-C with OTG, and a 3.5mm headphone jack — a practical advantage over the Nova 5 series. No 5G; NFC is listed as present by WhatMobile but treat it as unconfirmed on Pakistan units. Rear fingerprint sensor plus face unlock.

Variants, Colours and Availability

RAM variants: 6GB (common) and 8GB (some regions) — verify in Settings. Colours: Black, Gradient Blue, Red. Launched June 2019 alongside the Nova 5 and 5 Pro; not officially launched in Pakistan in most channels, so units are typically imports. Don't confuse it with the Nova 5i Pro (Kirin 810, 48MP camera, smaller punch-hole screen) — the Pro is the notably better phone.

Price in Pakistan and PTA Information

WhatMobile's old "expected" listing was Rs. 49,999; phoneworld.com.pk listed Rs. 55,340 historically. No current new price exists. Zohaan Mobile Gallery's catalog reference is Rs. 10,999 (2026-10-01 used-condition reference — not a live market price). Confirm the actual price, RAM variant, and Google apps status with the store.

PTA: per-device, per-IMEI. SMS the IMEI to 8484 and confirm "Compliant" before paying. How to check PTA approval.

Main Advantages and Limitations

• Quad camera with ultrawide; 24MP selfie camera
• 6GB RAM standard; punch-hole display looks modern

• Very affordable in the used market

Limitations:

• Google apps NOT guaranteed — June 2019 launch; verify on the actual unit
• Kirin 710F is dated — basic performance only
• Only 10W charging despite the big battery — slow refuels
• No software or security updates for years
• PTA status uncertain on used/imported units

Who Should Consider This Phone?

Good fit: battery-first budget buyers who want the longest-lasting used Nova with a modern-looking punch-hole screen, quad cameras, and a headphone jack — ideal as a backup phone, a media device, or a first smartphone where Google apps have been verified on the unit.

Look elsewhere if: you need guaranteed Play Store access sight unseen (get the Nova 4e), want faster charging, or need performance headroom — the Nova 5i Pro costs more used but is better in every way. Compare all used mobiles at Zohaan Mobile Gallery.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the price of Huawei Nova 5i in Pakistan?

Discontinued; old listings showed Rs. 49,999–55,340. Zohaan's catalog reference is Rs. 10,999 (not a live quote). Confirm the current used price on WhatsApp.

Does the Nova 5i have Google Play Store?

Not guaranteed — June 2019 launch, after the May 2019 restrictions. Verify on the actual phone before buying.

What is the difference between Nova 5i and Nova 5i Pro?

The Pro has the much faster 7nm Kirin 810 (vs Kirin 710F), a 48MP main camera (vs 24MP), a smaller 6.26-inch screen, and 20W charging (vs 10W). The Pro is the better phone in every department.

How is the battery life?

The best here — 4,000 mAh typically lasts a full day of moderate use. But charging is only 10W, so refuels are slow.

Does it have a headphone jack?

Yes — unlike the Nova 5 and 5 Pro, the 5i keeps the 3.5mm jack, plus microSD expansion.

Is the Kirin 710F different from the Kirin 710?

Barely — same CPU/GPU architecture and clocks; the "F" denotes a manufacturing revision. Real-world performance is identical to the Nova 3i's Kirin 710.

Is the Nova 5i PTA approved?

Per-device only — verify the specific unit's IMEI via SMS to 8484 before purchase.

Is the Nova 5i available at Zohaan Mobile Gallery?

Check the Nova 5i product page or WhatsApp +92 305 8452080 for used-stock availability and price.

Final Verdict

The Nova 5i is the sensible middle child: it fixes the Nova 3i's battery problem with a 4,000 mAh cell, adds a modern punch-hole display and quad cameras, and keeps the headphone jack and microSD slot. Its two honest weaknesses are the slow 10W charging and the uncertain Google apps status from its June 2019 launch. Verify the Play Store on the unit, verify PTA, and it's a genuinely good budget backup phone. Need guaranteed Google apps? The Nova 4e. Want real performance? The Nova 5i Pro.
