Huawei Nova 4e — Full Specifications, Features & Price in Pakistan

The Huawei Nova 4e is the regional name for the Huawei P30 Lite — the phone that brought triple cameras and a 32MP selfie camera to Huawei's mid-range in early 2019. It launched just before Google's restrictions on Huawei, which makes it one of the last Nova phones with guaranteed full Google apps. This guide covers its verified specifications and what to check on the used market.

Design and Build Quality

The Nova 4e moved to a smaller waterdrop notch and a slimmer 7.4mm body at just 159g — noticeably lighter and more comfortable than the Nova 3i. The gradient Bird Blue finish echoes the P30 series' design language. Build is glass front with a plastic frame and back, which keeps weight down. The rear fingerprint sensor is quick, and face unlock works via the 32MP front camera.

Display Features

The 6.15-inch IPS LCD at 1080 x 2312 hits ~415 ppi — the sharpest display of any phone in this article. The waterdrop notch is small and unobtrusive. Colour and sharpness are excellent for the used price; as with all 2018–2019 LCDs, contrast and sunlight legibility trail modern OLEDs, but indoors it is a genuinely pleasant screen.

Processor and Performance

The Kirin 710 returns here, now paired with Android 9 and EMUI 9 out of the box. Performance is the same story as the Nova 3i: fine for calls, WhatsApp, social apps, and YouTube, but not for heavy multitasking or modern gaming. The 6GB RAM variant (less common in Pakistan) holds apps in memory noticeably better than the 4GB version — worth seeking out if you find one.

RAM and Storage

128GB of built-in storage is standard, with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM depending on the variant — check the actual unit, as sellers don't always know which they have. 128GB remains generous for a budget used phone. microSD expansion details vary by regional variant, so confirm the slot on the specific phone if you need it.

Camera Features

The triple rear camera (24MP main + 8MP ultrawide + 2MP depth) was a real upgrade over the Nova 3i's dual setup — the ultrawide lens is genuinely useful for landscapes and group shots. The 32MP front camera was class-leading for selfies in 2019 and still takes detailed daylight shots. Video is 1080p only, and low-light performance shows the phone's age, but as a daylight camera package this is the best of the Kirin 710 Nova phones.

Battery and Charging

3,340 mAh with 18W fast charging — a step up from the Nova 3i's 10W, cutting full-charge time meaningfully. Real-world endurance on a used unit is a day of light use. The battery is the same capacity class as the Nova 3i, so set expectations accordingly and test drain during inspection. Replacement batteries are inexpensive and widely available since the P30 Lite shared parts.

Software and Updates

Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9.0 out of the box — the newest software of any phone covered in this batch — with no further major upgrades. The decisive buying point: full Google Mobile Services are guaranteed, because the Nova 4e launched in March 2019, two months before the May 2019 restrictions. Play Store, Gmail, YouTube, Maps, and banking apps all work normally. Security patches are long expired.

Connectivity and Additional Features

4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 with aptX HD, GPS/GLONASS/BDS, USB Type-C, FM radio on some variants, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. No 5G; NFC is absent on most regional variants. Face unlock plus rear fingerprint sensor.

Variants, Colours and Availability

The Nova 4e is the same hardware as the Huawei P30 Lite — parts, cases, and chargers are interchangeable, which helps with servicing. RAM variants: 4GB (common) and 6GB (less common). Colour names vary by source — Magic Night Black / Bird Blue / Pearl White versus Midnight Black / Gradient Blue — but these describe the same finishes. Launched March 2019; discontinued for years, used only.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the price of Huawei Nova 4e in Pakistan?

Historical listing Rs. 48,500 when new. Discontinued now; Zohaan's catalog reference is Rs. 10,999 (not a live quote). Confirm the current used price on WhatsApp.

Is the Nova 4e the same as the P30 Lite?

Yes — identical hardware, different regional name. Cases, chargers, and most spare parts are interchangeable.

Does the Nova 4e have Google Play Store?

Yes, guaranteed. It launched in March 2019, before the May 2019 restrictions — Play Store, Gmail, YouTube, and banking apps all work.

Is there a 6GB RAM version?

Yes, but it is less common in Pakistan. Most units are 4GB — check Settings on the actual phone before agreeing a price.

How is the camera compared to the Nova 3i?

Meaningfully better: triple rear camera with an ultrawide lens (the 3i has none) and a 32MP selfie camera versus 24MP.

What is its battery capacity and charging?

3,340 mAh with 18W fast charging — faster than the Nova 3i's 10W, but still a small, aged cell on used units.

Is the Nova 4e PTA approved?

Per-device only — verify the specific unit's IMEI via SMS to 8484 before purchase.

Final Verdict

The Nova 4e is arguably the sweet spot of the older used Novas: the sharpest screen, the best cameras of the Kirin 710 generation, Android 9, 18W charging, and — critically — guaranteed Google apps as a March 2019 launch. Its limits are the familiar ones: an old chip, a small tired battery, and no updates. For a budget buyer who wants a capable everyday backup with working Google services, it is a more sensible pick than the Nova 3i. Just verify the RAM variant, PTA status, and battery before paying.
