Huawei Nova 2 Lite — Full Specifications, Features & Price in Pakistan

The Huawei Nova 2 Lite launched in early 2018 as the budget entry of the Nova 2 family — a 5.99-inch 18:9 FullView display, Snapdragon 430 chip, and a dual rear camera at an affordable price. It is long discontinued, but used units still appear in Pakistan's budget market, and it carries full Google Mobile Services unlike Huawei's newer phones. This guide covers its verified specs, the used price, and what to realistically expect from an eight-year-old budget phone.

Design and Build Quality

The Nova 2 Lite is a slim 7.8 mm, 155 g phone with a rear fingerprint sensor and — for its time — a modern 18:9 tall display with slim bezels. The dual rear cameras sit in the upper-left corner rather than centred. Build is metal-and-glass for a premium feel that belied its budget price. On used units, check the back panel and corners for drops; the tall screen is more crack-prone than the Nova 2's compact one.

Display Features

The 5.99-inch IPS LCD at 720 x 1440 (~269 ppi) is the Lite's main compromise: it is visibly less sharp than the 1080p Nova 2, and close-up text shows pixels. In normal use — videos, social apps, calls — it is acceptable, and the 18:9 shape fits more content vertically. Reviewers noted a warm colour tone out of the box. Do not buy this phone for display sharpness; buy it for the price.

Processor and Performance

The Snapdragon 430 (28nm, octa-core 1.4 GHz) with 3GB of RAM is an entry-level 2018 chip — and it shows in 2026. Calls, WhatsApp, Facebook and YouTube run, but anything heavier stutters; even PUBG-era games were a struggle when new. This is strictly a basics phone: if the buyer's needs exceed messaging and media, the Nova 2 (Kirin 659, 4GB RAM) is the faster used alternative for barely more money.

RAM and Storage

3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, with a dedicated microSD slot — unlike the Nova 2, you keep both SIMs and the memory card. 32GB fills fast with modern apps, so plan on using the card for photos and media from day one. The reported 4GB/64GB variant exists in some markets but was not confirmed for Pakistan — assume 3GB/32GB unless the seller proves otherwise.

Camera Features

A 13MP main camera (f/2.2, PDAF) plus a 2MP depth sensor for portrait blur, with LED flash, HDR and panorama — fine for daylight snapshots, weak in low light. The 8MP front camera includes a selfie toning flash for night selfies, a thoughtful budget touch. Video is 1080p on both sides. Set expectations at 'social-media acceptable in daylight' and you will not be disappointed.

Battery and Charging

3,000mAh — modest even when new, and now eight years old. The efficient Snapdragon 430 helped it last a day of light use originally, but battery degradation is the top risk on any used unit: ask about health or replacement. Charging is via micro-USB at standard speeds (no fast charging confirmed), so top-ups are slow — plan overnight charging.

Software and Updates

EMUI 8.0 on Android 8.0 Oreo with full Google Mobile Services — Play Store and Google apps work, the Lite's key selling point against newer Huaweis. It also has Face Unlock alongside the rear fingerprint sensor. The catch, as ever: no security updates for years, so keep banking and sensitive accounts off it. App compatibility is shrinking — confirm your essential apps install before paying.

Connectivity and Additional Features

4G LTE (no 5G), dual nano-SIM plus dedicated microSD, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, micro-USB, 3.5mm headphone jack, and FM radio. Rear fingerprint sensor plus Face Unlock. Everything a basic smartphone needs is here; nothing more.

Variants, Colours and Availability

The standard variant is 3GB + 32GB. Some markets reportedly got a 4GB + 64GB version — unconfirmed for Pakistan, so verify the actual unit's RAM and storage in Settings before paying. Colours reported are Black and a metallic Sapphire Blue.

Price in Pakistan and PTA Information

The Nova 2 Lite was discontinued years ago — it is only available in Pakistan as a used or refurbished unit. Zohaan Mobile Gallery's catalog lists it at approximately Rs. 5,999 (2026-10-01 catalog import price), but used prices move with the unit's condition, battery health, and accessories, so confirm the current price — and the exact condition of the piece in stock — with the store before buying. Never pay a new-phone price for a 2017 model.

PTA: PTA approval applies per device and IMEI, not per model. Before paying, send the phone's IMEI to 8484 and confirm "Compliant" status. How to check PTA approval.

Used-unit checklist: check the IMEI via 8484 for PTA status, test the fingerprint sensor and both cameras, inspect the charging port, and ask about the battery — a 9-year-old battery may hold far less than its rated capacity. Zohaan Mobile Gallery provides a 7-day check warranty on used phones.

Google apps: the Nova 2 Lite launched before Huawei's 2019 restrictions, so it ships with full Google Mobile Services — Google Play, Gmail, YouTube and Maps all work. That is a genuine advantage over Huawei's newer HarmonyOS phones, and the main reason these old Novas still sell as used units.

Main Advantages and Limitations

Advantages:

• Full Google Mobile Services — Play Store works
• Dedicated microSD slot: dual SIM + memory card together
• Big 5.99-inch 18:9 display for the money
• Face Unlock plus rear fingerprint sensor
• Cheapest Nova in the used market — around Rs. 6,000

Limitations:

• Snapdragon 430 + 3GB RAM is very slow by 2026 standards
• 720p display is visibly unsharp up close
• 8-year-old battery; slow micro-USB charging
• No security updates — unsuitable for banking
• Only 32GB storage; 4GB/64GB variant unconfirmed locally

Who Should Consider This Phone?

Good fit: the absolute-budget buyer who needs a working smartphone for calls, WhatsApp and YouTube at the lowest possible price — a backup phone or a first phone where speed does not matter.

Look elsewhere if: you need any real performance — the used Nova 2 (Kirin 659, 4GB RAM) costs only slightly more and is noticeably faster; browse newer used options.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the price of Huawei Nova 2 Lite in Pakistan?

Only as a used phone: approximately Rs. 5,999 per Zohaan Mobile Gallery's catalog (2026-10-01 import). Price depends on condition — confirm with the store.

Does the Nova 2 Lite have Google Play Store?

Yes — full Google Mobile Services, since it launched in 2018 before Huawei's restrictions.

What are its key specifications?

5.99-inch 720p 18:9 display, Snapdragon 430, 3GB RAM + 32GB storage (dedicated microSD), dual 13+2MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, 3,000mAh battery.

Is the display good?

It is a 720p panel (~269 ppi) — acceptable for videos and social apps but visibly unsharp up close. Do not expect 1080p clarity.

Can it run games?

Only very light games. The Snapdragon 430 struggled with demanding games even when new; in 2026 it is a basics-only chip.

How is the battery on used units?

Eight years old — degradation is likely. Ask about battery health or replacement, and note charging is slow micro-USB.

Is it PTA approved?

PTA status is per-device. Send the unit's IMEI to 8484 and confirm "Compliant" before paying.

Is it available at Zohaan Mobile Gallery?

Final Verdict

The Nova 2 Lite is the cheapest way into a working Huawei with Google apps — around Rs. 6,000 used. But it is also the weakest phone in this guide: slow chip, soft display, tired battery. Buy it only if the budget is truly fixed at this level and the use case is calls-plus-WhatsApp; otherwise the small step up to a used Nova 2 buys a meaningfully better phone.
