Huawei Nova 12s — Full Specifications, Features & Price in Pakistan

The Huawei Nova 12s occupies a distinctive spot in the Nova 12 family: the only member with the Snapdragon 778G, it combines near-flagship efficiency with a 60MP front camera and a featherweight 168 g body. Launched in April 2024, it pairs a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED with 66W charging. This guide covers its verified specifications, Pakistan pricing, and the HMS-only software situation.

Design and Build Quality

At 161.3 x 75 x 6.9 mm and just 168 grams, the Nova 12s is the lightest and thinnest Nova 12 — noticeably more comfortable for one-handed use than the 199 g Nova 12i. The plastic build with a scratch-resistant glass front keeps weight down, and the listed colour options include Black, Green, White and Gold. The design mirrors the Nova 12 SE's camera housing, with Huawei's signature pill-shaped module.

Display Features

The 6.7-inch OLED runs at 1084 x 2412 (~395 ppi) with a full 120Hz refresh rate, HDR support and a 10-bit panel showing one billion colours. At this tier the 120Hz OLED is the display highlight — smoother and more vibrant than the 90Hz panels on the cheaper SE and 12i. The 20:9 aspect ratio suits both video and one-handed scrolling.

Processor and Performance

The Snapdragon 778G 4G (6 nm octa-core, 4x2.4 GHz Kryo 670 + 4x1.8 GHz Kryo 670, Adreno 642L GPU) is a step above the Snapdragon 680 in the SE and 12i: stronger sustained performance, better gaming at medium-to-high settings, and a faster GPU. It is still 4G-only — Huawei's Qualcomm 4G variant — so buyers needing 5G must step to the Kirin-powered Pro/Ultra. These are manufacturer specifications, not tested benchmarks.

RAM and Storage

One configuration: 8GB RAM with 256GB of internal storage and no card slot. 256GB is generous at this tier, and 8GB keeps multitasking smooth alongside the capable 778G. Because storage cannot be expanded, heavy 4K-video shooters should plan for the 256GB limit.

Camera Features

The rear dual camera combines a 50MP wide sensor (f/1.9, PDAF, Laser AF) with an 8MP autofocus ultra-wide (112°) — a genuine ultra-wide, unlike the 12i's depth sensor. The headline is the front: a 60MP ultra-wide selfie camera (100° field of view) with 4K@30fps video — flagship-tier selfie hardware borrowed from the Pro/Ultra. Rear 4K video with gyro-EIS is also supported, a cut above the SE/12i's 1080p.

Battery and Charging

The 4,500mAh battery with 66W wired fast charging matches the SE's charging speed — advertised to refill quickly from low levels. Battery life is solid given the efficient 6 nm chip, though heavy 120Hz use will drain it faster than the larger batteries in the 12i. No wireless charging.

Software and Updates

EMUI 14 with Huawei Mobile Services — no Google Play Services, as with every Nova 12. AppGallery covers many popular apps, but Google-dependent apps (some banking apps, Google Pay, games tied to Google login) can be problematic. Check your must-have apps in AppGallery before committing. No official update commitment was verified for this model.

Connectivity and Additional Features

4G LTE only, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6) dual-band, Bluetooth 5.2 with A2DP/LE, NFC with NFC-SIM/HCE, and comprehensive positioning (dual-band GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, QZSS, NavIC). The under-display optical fingerprint sensor is a premium touch here. Accelerometer, gyro, compass and colour-spectrum sensor are included. No 3.5mm jack listed.

Variants, Colours and Availability

Verified variant: 8GB + 256GB. Listed colours: Black, Green, White, Gold. The Nova 12s was not officially launched in Pakistan — local units are imported, so verify box contents and the exact model marking (FOA-LX9 has appeared on some listing sources). Do not confuse with the Nova 12 SE (same 66W charging but a weaker 680 chip and 108MP rear camera) or the standard Nova 12 (Kirin 830, 5G).

Price in Pakistan and PTA Information

No official Pakistan price exists. bestmobile.pk listed Rs. 156,300 (updated early October 2026), matching priceupdate.com.pk's Rs. 156,300 (October 2025). Some listing sites show much lower expected figures (around Rs. 68,000), which appear to be speculative and conflict with the established listings — treat those with scepticism. Confirm the current price with Zohaan Mobile Gallery before buying.

PTA: PTA approval applies per device and IMEI, not per model, and imported units may carry additional PTA tax. Before paying, send the phone's IMEI to 8484 and confirm "Compliant" status. How to check PTA approval.

Who Should Consider This Phone?

Good fit: buyers who want the best balance in the Nova 12 line — strong performance, a superb selfie camera and a light body — without flagship pricing. Vloggers and selfie-heavy users get near-Pro front cameras for much less.

Look elsewhere if: you need 5G or Google services, or want the largest battery (the 12i's 5,000mAh lasts longer). Compare in the all mobiles collection.

Final Verdict

The Nova 12s is arguably the sweet spot of the Nova 12 family: the best-balanced chip, a 60MP front camera that embarrasses phones twice its price, a 120Hz OLED, and the lightest body in the range. Its honest costs are the 4G-only chip, no Google services and no official Pakistan launch. For buyers who prioritise performance-per-rupee and selfies over 5G and ecosystem, it is a compelling pick.
