Huawei Nova 12i — Full Specifications, Features & Price in Pakistan

The Huawei Nova 12i is the most affordable entry in the Nova 12 family, offering a big 6.7-inch 90Hz display, a 108MP main camera and a 5,000mAh battery with 40W charging on the efficient Snapdragon 680. Launched in April 2024, it trades the OLED panels of its pricier siblings for a large LCD — the classic budget-phone compromise. This guide covers its verified specifications and Pakistan pricing.

Design and Build Quality

The Nova 12i measures 163.3 x 74.7 x 8.4 mm and weighs 199 grams — the thickest and heaviest of the Nova 12 family, partly because of the larger 5,000mAh battery inside. Its plastic build and 2.5D curved glass keep costs down while feeling solid. Colour options include Green, Black and White. The design borrows the Nova 12 SE's camera housing language, so the two look similar at a glance — check the model marking before buying.

Display Features

The 6.7-inch IPS LCD panel runs at 1080 x 2388 (~391 ppi) with a 90Hz refresh rate. It is the one clear downgrade from the Nova 12 SE: LCD instead of OLED means shallower blacks and less punch, though resolution and size are the same. In bright daylight the panel is readable, and 90Hz keeps scrolling acceptably smooth. Buyers who watch a lot of video in dark rooms will notice the difference versus OLED siblings.

Processor and Performance

The Snapdragon 680 (6 nm octa-core, 4x2.4 GHz Cortex-A73 + 4x1.9 GHz Cortex-A53, Adreno 610 GPU) is a well-understood budget platform: snappy for everyday apps, browsing, social media and light games, and very power-efficient. It is 4G-only, so 5G is not on the menu. Like the SE, these are manufacturer specifications, not tested benchmarks — expect a solid everyday phone, not a gaming powerhouse.

RAM and Storage

8GB of LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. The 128GB option keeps the price lower, but there is no card slot, so heavy media users should pick 256GB. 8GB RAM is comfortable for multitasking at this price tier.

Camera Features

The dual rear camera is headlined by a 108MP wide sensor (f/1.9, PDAF) with a 2MP depth sensor for portrait effects — there is no ultra-wide lens, unlike the SE. Daylight stills are the strength; the depth sensor helps background blur in portrait mode. The front camera is a modest 8MP. Video is capped at 1080p at 30fps on both sides, with no 4K and no optical stabilisation.

Battery and Charging

The 5,000mAh battery is the largest in the Nova 12 family and, paired with the efficient Snapdragon 680, comfortably lasts a full day of typical use. 40W wired charging refills it to about 60% in 30 minutes — not the 66W of the SE, but still meaningfully faster than the 18W charging common on cheaper phones. No wireless charging.

Software and Updates

EMUI 14 with Huawei Mobile Services — no Google Play Services. The same caveat applies as across the Nova 12 range: AppGallery covers many popular apps, but Google-dependent apps (some banking apps, Google Pay, games with Google login) can be problematic. Confirm your must-have apps are available in AppGallery before buying. No official update commitment was verified.

Connectivity and Additional Features

4G LTE only, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 with A2DP/LE, NFC, and GPS with GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou and QZSS. The side-mounted fingerprint sensor is fast and reliable. Accelerometer and compass round out the sensors — note there is no listed gyroscope, which some VR apps and precise auto-rotation games use. No 3.5mm jack listed.

Variants, Colours and Availability

Verified variants: 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB. Colours: Green, Black, White. The Nova 12i was not officially launched in Pakistan; listings are for expected/imported units, so colours, included charger and box contents vary by seller. Because the 12i and 13i share near-identical designs and specs, verify the exact model name on the box.

Good fit: price-conscious buyers who want the biggest battery and a 108MP camera in the Nova line without paying for OLED — heavy screen-time users who value endurance over panel quality.

Look elsewhere if: you watch a lot of video in the dark (the SE's OLED is worth the step up), need 5G, or depend on Google services. Compare in the all mobiles collection.

Final Verdict

The Nova 12i is the endurance pick of the Nova 12 family: the biggest battery, a 108MP camera and a large 90Hz screen at the lowest price. The LCD panel and 4G-only chip are the honest compromises. If your priorities are battery life and value over screen quality and 5G, it is a sensible buy — just make sure your essential apps work without Google services.
