Huawei Mate X5 Price in Pakistan & Specs
Huawei Mate X5 — Full Specifications, Features & Price in Pakistan
The Huawei Mate X5 (2023) marked the return of Kirin silicon to Huawei's foldable line — the Kirin 9000S — wrapped in an IPX8 water-resistant body with a silicon-carbon battery and stylus support. It is the first Mate X that feels like a complete flagship rather than a compromise, but the two familiar caveats remain: HMS only with no Google apps, and no official Pakistan launch. This guide covers its verified specifications, Pakistan price expectations, and honest buying advice.

Design and Build Quality
The X5 kept the X3's slim 5.3 mm unfolded profile but added what the X3 lacked: IPX8 water resistance — the first water-resistant book-style foldable Huawei made. The inner screen uses an impact-resistant flexible structure, and the cover display gets Kunlun Glass. At 243–245 g it stays light for a foldable. Leather and glass back options exist; weight varies slightly between them. It also supports a stylus on both displays — rare for foldables.
Display Features
The 7.85-inch folding OLED (120Hz, 2224 x 2496, 1 billion colours) pairs with a 6.4-inch 120Hz LTPO cover display at 1080 x 2504. Both support 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, which reduces eye strain at low brightness — a genuinely thoughtful touch. Colour, brightness, and crease control are all a clear step up from the X3.
Processor and Performance
The Kirin 9000S (7nm) was Huawei's comeback chip — the first domestically produced flagship silicon after the sanctions era — with the Maleoon 910 GPU. It is not a chart-topper against 2024–2026 flagship chips, but it delivers smooth, cool everyday performance with 5G connectivity restored. Real-world use is flagship-comfortable; heavy gaming at max settings is where newer chips pull ahead.
RAM and Storage
Generous across the board: 12GB or 16GB of RAM with 512GB or 1TB of storage. 12GB + 512GB is the sensible mainstream pick. A Nano Memory card slot (up to 256GB) shares the second SIM slot. Multitasking across the big folding display is where the 16GB variants earn their keep.
Camera Features
The XMAGE triple camera — 50MP main with OIS, 12MP periscope with 5x optical zoom and OIS, and 13MP ultrawide — produces rich, detailed photos with Huawei's latest processing. The 5x periscope keeps the X5 competitive with 2026 camera phones for zoom. Both the inner and cover displays carry 8MP front cameras. Video reaches 4K at 30/60fps.
Battery and Charging
A 5,060mAh silicon-carbon battery — denser chemistry than conventional Li-Po — with 66W wired charging, 50W wireless, and 7.5W reverse wireless. Silicon-carbon is the reason the X5 stays slim while matching slab-phone battery capacity. Expect a comfortable full day of mixed folding-display use; verify standby drain on grey-market units.
Software and Updates
HarmonyOS 4.0 with HMS only — no Google Play Services. AppGallery's catalog has grown substantially, and many international apps are available, but native Google apps remain absent and some banking apps need workarounds. Huawei continued HarmonyOS updates for the X5; confirm the installed version on any unit. This is the single biggest decision point — resolve it before the price.
Connectivity and Additional Features
5G (SA/NSA), 4G LTE, hybrid dual Nano-SIM, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS, and USB-C 3.1 with DisplayPort. Standout extras: BDS satellite messaging/calling support, IPX8 water resistance, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, and stylus support on both displays.
Variants, Colours and Availability
Variants: 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 512GB, 16GB + 1TB in FeatherSand Black, FeatherSand White, Phantom Purple, Dark Green, and Gold. The X5 was a China-focused launch and was never officially sold in Pakistan — all local units are grey imports, so inspect hinge, screens, and cameras thoroughly; folding-display repairs remain expensive and scarce.
Price in Pakistan and PTA Information
Pakistani trackers list expected prices of Rs. 429,999 (12GB + 512GB), Rs. 449,999 (16GB + 512GB), and Rs. 469,999 (16GB + 1TB), updated September 2026 — estimates, not official prices, so confirm the current asking price with Zohaan Mobile Gallery. Older archives show figures as low as Rs. 302,200 and Rs. 319,999 (expected). PTA verification via 8484 is essential at this price level.
PTA: PTA approval applies per device and IMEI, not per model. Before paying, send the phone's IMEI to 8484 and confirm "Compliant" status. How to check PTA approval and how to check the IMEI before you hand over any money.

The Mate X5 is the sweet spot of the older Mate X line: Kirin power with 5G, real water resistance, a big silicon-carbon battery, and a 5x periscope — the first X that asks for no hardware apologies. The only apology it still owes is software: HMS-only remains the price of admission. If you can pay it, this is the used Huawei foldable to buy.
