Huawei Mate 30E Pro 5G — Full Specifications, Features & Price in Pakistan

The Huawei Mate 30E Pro 5G is the late-2020 refresh of the Mate 30 Pro formula: the same 6.53-inch Horizon Display and Leica quad camera, but with the tweaked Kirin 990E 5G chip and EMUI 11 out of the box. It is HMS-only — no Google Play Services — which remains the decisive factor for Pakistani buyers. This guide covers verified specifications, Pakistan price context, and honest used-market advice.

Key Specifications at a Glance

Design and Build Quality

The Mate 30E Pro 5G is physically near-identical to the Mate 30 Pro 5G: the same 88-degree curved Horizon Display, circular camera housing, Gorilla Glass 6 front and back, aluminium frame, and IP68 water and dust resistance. If you know the 2019 Pro, you know this phone — the refresh was internal, not visual. At 198 g it remains comfortable to hold.

Display Features

The 6.53-inch OLED with 1176 x 2400 resolution (~409 ppi) and HDR10 is sharp and vibrant, with the same waterfall-curve drama as the Pro — near-borderless sides, occasional accidental edge touches, and screen protectors that need care to fit. Under-display fingerprint and 3D face unlock are both fast and reliable.

Processor and Performance

The Kirin 990E 5G is a binned variant of the Kirin 990 5G: same octa-core CPU architecture up to 2.86 GHz, but with a slightly reduced GPU core count (14-core vs 16-core Mali-G76). In daily use the difference is negligible — apps, multitasking, and most games run smoothly. Only benchmark hunters or sustained heavy gamers would notice the gap versus the full Kirin 990 5G.

RAM and Storage

8GB RAM with 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage, expandable via Nano Memory card (up to 256GB, shared SIM slot). Because this model was primarily a China release, Pakistan units are imports — confirm the exact storage variant on the device, as grey-market listings sometimes misstate specs.

Camera Features

The camera system mirrors the Mate 30 Pro 5G: 40MP SuperSensing wide with OIS, 40MP Cine ultrawide, 8MP 3x telephoto with OIS, and TOF 3D depth — Leica-tuned, with excellent daylight and low-light photography for its generation and 4K@60fps video. The 32MP front camera with 3D depth sensing takes detailed selfies. This is the phone's strongest reason to exist: flagship cameras at used-market prices.

Battery and Charging

The 4,500mAh battery supports 40W wired SuperCharge, 27W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging — the same complete setup as the 2019 Pro. As with any discontinued import, battery health is the key used-market check: ask for a health report and test charging behaviour before paying.

Software and Updates

Android 10 with EMUI 11 out of the box — the newest EMUI the Mate 30 family received — but no Google Play Services. The HMS-only limitation is identical to the rest of the series: no Play Store, Gmail, YouTube, or Maps. EMUI 11 adds refinements like improved always-on display and smoother animations, but it does not change the Google equation. Check that your essential apps work via AppGallery before buying.

Connectivity and Additional Features

Full 5G (Sub-6 SA/NSA), 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, IR blaster, and USB Type-C 3.1. Stereo speakers, in-display fingerprint, and 3D face unlock round out the flagship feature set. Hybrid dual SIM — the second SIM slot shares space with the Nano Memory card.

Variants, Colours and Availability

The Mate 30E Pro 5G came in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB, in Black, Space Silver, Cosmic Purple, and Emerald Green glass plus vegan leather Orange and Forest Green. Crucially, this was a China-focused release (model LIO-AN00m) — Pakistan units are grey imports, which makes PTA verification and authenticity checks even more important. It is discontinued worldwide.

Price in Pakistan and PTA Information

No verified current Pakistan price exists — this model was never officially sold in Pakistan. Historical overseas reference was about €680 at launch. Zohaan Mobile Gallery's internal catalog reference is Rs. 75,000 (reference only — not a current market price). Used grey-import prices vary by condition and variant — confirm the latest price with Zohaan Mobile Gallery before buying.

PTA: PTA approval applies per device and IMEI, not per model — and grey imports are the highest-risk category. Before paying, send the phone's IMEI to 8484 and confirm "Compliant" status. How to check PTA approval.

Main Advantages and Limitations

Advantages:

• Flagship Leica quad camera with dual-40MP sensors at used prices
• EMUI 11 out of the box — the most refined software the Mate 30 line got
• IP68, 5G, and full 40W/27W charging suite
• Near-identical hardware to the Mate 30 Pro 5G, often priced lower

Limitations:

• No Google Play Services — the central deal-breaker
• China-focused release — grey imports only, with authenticity and PTA risk
• Slightly weaker GPU than the full Kirin 990 5G (rarely noticeable)
• Discontinued — no official updates, aged batteries on used units

Who Should Consider This Phone?

Good fit: value hunters who want the Mate 30 Pro 5G experience — Leica cameras, curved OLED, IP68 — at a lower used price, and who are comfortable with Huawei's AppGallery ecosystem. A smart pick as a camera-focused second phone.

Look elsewhere if: you need Google apps, want an officially launched Pakistan model with cleaner PTA history, or dislike grey imports — then browse the all mobiles collection for alternatives with full Google support.

What is the difference between the 30E Pro and 30 Pro 5G?

The 30E Pro uses the Kirin 990E 5G (slightly reduced GPU cores), ships with EMUI 11, and was a China-focused release. Design, display, cameras, and battery are essentially identical.

Kirin 990E 5G (7 nm+) octa-core with 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.0 storage.

How good is its camera?

What is its battery and charging?

4,500mAh with 40W wired SuperCharge, 27W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging.

Final Verdict

The Mate 30E Pro 5G is the Mate 30 Pro 5G's quieter twin — same cameras, same display, same charging, with EMUI 11 and a slightly trimmed chip, usually at a lower used price. For HMS-comfortable buyers it is arguably the better-value pick of the two. But the grey-import origin means extra diligence: verify the model number (LIO-AN00m), the IMEI via 8484, and your app compatibility before paying.
