Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G — Full Specifications, Features & Price in Pakistan

The Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G is the range-topping 2019 Mate: an 88-degree curved "Horizon Display", the Kirin 990 5G chip with an integrated 5G modem, and a dual-40MP Leica camera system that topped DxOMark charts on release. It is also HMS-only — no Google Play Services — which is the central trade-off every Pakistani buyer must weigh.

Key Specifications at a Glance

Design and Build Quality

The Mate 30 Pro 5G's 88-degree curved "Horizon Display" wraps around the edges so far that Huawei replaced the volume buttons with touch controls — striking in 2019 and still distinctive. Gorilla Glass 6 front and back, an aluminium frame, and IP68 water and dust resistance (up to 2m for 30 minutes) give it true flagship durability, a step above the base Mate 30's IP53.

Display Features

The 6.53-inch OLED with 1176 x 2400 resolution (~409 ppi) and HDR10 is sharp, vibrant, and bright for its era. Under-display fingerprint and 3D face unlock both work quickly.

Processor and Performance

The Kirin 990 5G (7 nm+) integrates the 5G modem directly into the chip — the first such flagship SoC — which improved power efficiency versus bolt-on 5G modems of the time. The octa-core CPU up to 2.86 GHz and 16-core Mali-G76 GPU still handle everyday apps and most games comfortably. It is not current-flagship fast, but it is well above budget-phone territory.

RAM and Storage

8GB of RAM pairs with 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of UFS 3.0 storage, plus a Nano Memory card slot (up to 256GB, shared SIM slot) for expansion. On the used market, the 256GB variant is the sweet spot — 128GB fills fast with 4K video, and 512GB units are rare and priced higher.

Camera Features

This is where the Mate 30 Pro 5G earned its reputation: a dual-40MP system (40MP SuperSensing wide with OIS + 40MP Cine ultrawide), an 8MP 3x telephoto with OIS, and a TOF 3D depth sensor — Leica-tuned, with class-leading low-light performance in 2019 and 4K@60fps video. The 40MP Cine camera's ultra-slow-motion (up to 7680fps at 720p) remains a fun standout. The 32MP front camera with 3D depth sensing takes detailed selfies with good portrait separation.

Battery and Charging

The 4,500mAh battery with 40W wired SuperCharge, 27W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging was a complete flagship package in 2019. Battery health is now the key variable: a used unit's real-world endurance depends on how the previous owner charged it. Always verify battery condition before paying for a discontinued phone.

Software and Updates

Android 10 with EMUI 10, and no Google Play Services — this is the defining limitation of the entire Mate 30 line. You get Huawei's AppGallery, Petal Search, and browser-based alternatives, but no Play Store, Gmail app, or Google Maps. For buyers whose banking, work, or social apps depend on Google services, this is a hard stop. Confirm app compatibility for your specific needs before committing.

Connectivity and Additional Features

Full 5G (Sub-6 SA/NSA) plus 4G LTE, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.1 with aptX HD, NFC, an IR blaster, and USB Type-C 3.1. Stereo audio uses the in-display earpiece plus the bottom speaker. The virtual volume buttons take getting used to but work reliably. Dual SIM is hybrid — the second SIM slot doubles as the Nano Memory card slot.

Variants, Colours and Availability

The Mate 30 Pro 5G shipped in Black, Space Silver, Cosmic Purple, and Emerald Green glass, plus vegan leather Orange and Forest Green editions. Storage options: 128GB, 256GB, 512GB — all with 8GB RAM. It is discontinued: Pakistan buyers will find used or old import units only. Note this file covers the 5G model — the non-5G Mate 30 Pro (Kirin 990, no 5G modem) is a different listing with its own article.

Price in Pakistan and PTA Information

No verified current official Pakistan price exists — the Mate 30 Pro 5G is discontinued. Historical overseas reference was about $1,664 at launch; Pakistan launch-era listings were substantially above the base Mate 30. Zohaan Mobile Gallery's internal catalog reference for this model is Rs. 110,000 (reference only — not a current market price). Used prices vary by condition, variant, and battery health — confirm the latest price with Zohaan Mobile Gallery before buying.

PTA: PTA approval applies per device and IMEI, not per model. Before paying, send the phone's IMEI to 8484 and confirm "Compliant" status. How to check PTA approval.

Main Advantages and Limitations

• Integrated-5G Kirin 990 5G chip with strong efficiency
• IP68 water and dust resistance — rare at used-flagship prices
• Complete charging: 40W wired, 27W wireless, reverse wireless

Limitations:

• No Google Play Services — the central deal-breaker for many buyers
• Waterfall display: accidental touches, hard-to-fit screen protectors
• Discontinued — aged batteries, no official software updates
• Hybrid SIM: adding a Nano Memory card means giving up dual SIM

Who Should Consider This Phone?

Good fit: photography enthusiasts who want Leica cameras and 3x zoom at used prices and can live with Huawei's AppGallery ecosystem. Also appeals to buyers who want IP68 and 5G in a premium-feeling phone without paying current-flagship prices.

Look elsewhere if: you depend on Google apps for work, banking, or daily life — buy a phone with full Google support from the all mobiles collection instead. Also skip if you hate curved screens or need guaranteed update support.
